  1. 1. Which song is bigger?

    • Wannabe by Spice Girls
    • ...Baby One More Time by Britney Spears

It's Wannabe. It'd be eligible for 6-7x Platinum in the US if their certifications were ever updated.

Wannabe - 965M + 629M = 1.594B

BOMT - 695M + 874M = 1.569B

So Wannabe is bigger :hippo:

Both are huge and probably the two most iconic pop songs from the 90's, but BOMT has the more iconic and memorable music video so it has the edge.

Everyone can identify Baby one more time from the first 2 seconds played. Also it has an iconic video.

I feel like they’re both as big as each other. I’m not sure how you could ever decide which one is the biggest as they’re both so iconic and well known.

Wannabe. Mostly because Britney had other signature songs but the Spice Girls’ main song is Wannabe so it gets all the attention

Atrl keeps exposing fraudulent success. First they exposed crazy in love as a flop now bomt as a flop. Spice girls really did that huh? I didn’t know people streamed that song like that in 2023

Bomt because britney success wasnt just for one era and maintained it in long run. Not only that, she brought back solo artist at top again at peak of teen pop groups

Plus Wannabe had a far better chart run, spending 4 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100.

BOMT easily, it went #1 in every country it charted in and broke a Guinness World Record for that

It was #5 on Billboard's Year-End and #3 on Europe's year-end

Britney has so many classics so it makes sense BOMT isn't her most streamed, while Spice Girls main classic is Wannabe

That's a tough one

BOMT includes more iconography, but Wannabe is the type of song that everyone BELTS when it's played. Both are classics.

Not a 1996 song nearly crossing the billion mark, i knew the recurrent streams were good but wasnt expecting that :deadbanana2:

Numbers dont lie,it's Wannabe.

I was about to say. Atrl with revisionism of older hits because of Spotify as usual :deadbanana4:
