“Cruel Summer,” one week at No. 1 to-date, Oct. 28, 2023
“Anti-Hero,” eight weeks, beginning Nov. 5, 2022
“All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” one week, Nov. 27, 2021
“Willow,” one week, Dec. 26, 2020
“Cardigan,” one week, Aug. 8, 2020

She scored 5 #1's between 2020-2023. It's safe to say that she's coming for Mariah's record

If she is this needs to happen in the next year or two before over-saturation and ageism gets in the way.

So 5 more over a period of 4 years assuming she keeps up this momentum - that puts us in 2027 she's still 4 away from tying Mariah. Plus she'll be 37 then and we know how ageism in the music industry works.

It’s amazing how Lover had 39 weeks top ten after that one week though. Rep just had 8.

Beyonce and Sia got #1's at age 40, with Beyonce getting an additional Top 10 at 41. Taylor still has about 7 years to make hay.

Right, but how many after they turned 40? She has 7ish years to get 9-10 #1s

It's "amazing" how it took a 4 year old album track to get Loser to the upper echelon of the charts. God knows its first 4 singles couldn't do it.

I dont think anything on Reputation could explode like this, CS is insanely catchy.

Getaway Car is the catchiest on the album (not the best), but I dont think it has the CS appeal

Weeks in the top 10 before 2023:

Lover - 18

reputation - 12

Also, a reputation stan talking about needing a viral album track is hilarious

Streams yesterday:

LWYMMD + Delicate = 1.7M

Lover = 1.9M

Two pop radios #1 combined can't outstream a song that didn't even go top 10 on pop

End IT

also, #1over was fighting with albums that are really high up on the GOAT chart (like Hollywood’s bleeding), whereas puta was left in the dust by the greasiest showman

Reputation has been charting in the top 20 all year and is guaranteed a permanent residency on the Billboard 200 with the release of its TV. Unfortunately for Loser not every album can have multiweek AND year end #1 status. :heart2:

Let's take a look at Reputation's first 4 singles vs. Lover's

LWYMMD (+851,936) vs. ME! (+317,104)

...Ready for It? (+682,223) vs. You Need to Calm Down (+524,880)

End Game (+391,212) vs. Lover (1,881,928)

Delicate (+870,607) vs. The Man (784,783)

Reputation wins the pre 2020 battle fair and square

Finally official :clap3:

It’s a rollercoaster ride for this song, I already gave up when Drake and Bad Bunny announced their albums but it kept going and outlasted all the songs that were initially blocking it :alexz:
