And that's still because he's Kanye West, public enemy #1

My bad, was looking at the repost but the point still stands. The outrage is obviously disingenuous. Thread (which doesn't even meet viral thresholds) was obviously made with ulterior motives like... :rip:

Oh wow :rip: a hot mess

This is still a bunch of white people hitting the image of a black person who didn't do anything personal to them while laughing at it, just because they stan a woman who doesn't even know their names. If you think this doesn't look like racist cult behavior, fine; but I don't think Taylor would be amused at this either.

She doesn't have to feel amused at it, as you said, she doesn't know their names.

And this is the image of a neo-nazi and a slavery apologist.

...What? Hitting a pinata of an enemy of someone you stan doesn't make you neonazi, it just makes you look dumb :rip:

I would say I'm surprised to see black people getting labeled as disingenuous for calling out racism but this place and its members have history. :rip:

Would it be okay if it was a picture of Scooter?

Would it be okay if it was a picture of Taylor Swift? :bird:

I have a feeling we'd be reading thousands of middle school level essays on sexism and misogyny if that was the case.

A bunch of white teens stringing up a picture of a black man and repeatedly wacking it with a bat, what connotations could such a situation possibly evoke???

I guess that there’s small solace to be taken in the fact that these idiots were semi-mindful enough not to string the piñata up to a tree.

Predictably, many of you have shown yourselves to need this reminder: Kanye being a terrible person doesn’t justify anti-blackness towards him.

LOL some Swifties are unhinged... First the Eras Tour movie cult circle, people stealing posters from movie theaters, and now this...

PLEASE repeat this thought process but this time catch the insanity

Making a piñata of someone your favorite artist doesn’t like just to hit it is already unhinged behavior, like who tf would make that effort? Other than Swifties ofcourse

On top of that a bunch of white people beating the image of a black man, no matter the circumstances, is not a great image. It does bring up connotations of the past whether you want to or not. The fact that their hatred for said black man comes from the fact that their favorite white artist doesn’t like him… doesn’t make it much better

Maybe if you didn't cut the quote halfway through you'd realize I literally said it makes you look dumb to have a pinata of someone your fav beefed with...? :rip:

Against a history of hanging effigies of Black men from trees (not to mention actual lynchings), it's not a great look!

Just to be fair though, Isn’t that more in the context of US racism?  Shouldn’t we be analyzing this through the context of race in Brazil?  (This is not to say their actions are any better in that context…just that the context should be framed that way)

But why? Kanye West is old news

I feel like if you remove TikTok from some of these people, you will see they have nothing going on for them... sad times

I'm not even hating, I'm a huge Swiftie myself, but I cringe at the **** some of these unhinged fans do x

Just this one time, Swifties got it right :clap3:

I don't think it's racist but it's very weird and unneccessary. I don't see the fun in it at all :deadbanana2: why not just make a pinata themed around one of her albums that'd be way more creative
