Was Mel B the spice girl with most solo potential?

Her sound, her charisma, her dancing, her voice, her beauty. For me she had so much potential but her personal life end up taking her carreer away.

Geri was cool but limited.

Mel C was boring.

Emma had no direction.

Victoria was quite the good dancer, but the general public didnt want her.

None of them really stand out on their own.

Absolutely. I Want You Back should’ve been the start of a killer solo career.

no.
Melanie C was there. Best vocals and very cheresmatic
She also dropped two best songs from their group:

Victoria had the best solo album by far. None of them were meant to be solo artists though.

First of all, you are both right and wrong. YES, she unquestionably has the best solo material out of them, but this girl was NOT charismatic and the I Turn to You video makes that clear

i completely forgot this absolutely manic energy she serves in it :ahh:

She felt like the leader of the group and had i guess most vocals in the songs

She doesn't have an appealing voice :celestial5: Mel C and Emma both sound much nicer on record imo

Mel B has had the most successful reality TV career of the group and I think that was the right lane for her. Fantastic personalaity and massive charisma

Yeah she was my fav SG. She should have had her debut album produced by Missy & Timbaland. Word Up and I Want You Back were nice and different

Yes which is why she's still active [edit: wrong Mel :rip:]

Weirdly enough though, I catch Emma's CLASSIC What Took You So Long a lot lately on the radio or in stores. Is it going viral or sth?

Mel B is seriously underrated. She was creating lady Gaga level of music videos, her choreography can be compared to Britney, she worked with Missy, timbaland, sisqo, jam and Lewis and countless other icons and then she kinda gave up. Her first solo album is incredible and still holds up today.

I personally love Mel C’s stuff and have loved that she still creates and releases albums but Mel B was an absolute queen of pop for a short period of time

if anything she was the worst after victoria lol

Yes. Mel C was the one making "real music" a.k.a better in the artistic sense when compared to pop girls but not good enough to being take seriously by the pitchfork kind of crowd. In that sense she made boring pop music with some cool moments lost in a see of pretentious tracks.

She had no stage presence. It always baffled me that she has a degree in dancing and all she does on the group or solo is a kick or standing still.

Mel B on the other hand was making a sound that would peak with Nelly Furtado, the "timbaland and missy" sound. In a way she was ahead of her time, because yes, we had Aaliyah, but Mel B mixed her sound with a more world music kinda feel and european trends.

Mel B was my fave from the group but Mel C was far superior musically.

"Northern Star" aged very well whereas "Hot" sounds so dated.
