I'd personally take out the word "pop" from that statement but yeah I concur Miss Diamond! :clap3:

Also Stephen is very PC Music coded. It all makes sense. A.G. has god-tier taste. One of a kind producer. Absolute KING! :jonny4:

Been streaming it a bit more recently. Definitely brings back great memories. People don't make pop albums like that anymore. Still slaps top to toe (excluding B&B, ofc).

Well yes, the album is absolutely iconic. I was SO obsessed with her back then. It’s lowkey better than Teenage Dream.

Half of Animal was recorded between 2005-2008 when Kesha was not working with Dr. Luke at all and tried to get away from with him, so take your gross Luke stanning elsewhere.

And I just KNOW this brown haired boy in front of me is TomTom

There's also a cute interracial gay couple

Rihanna has a few great tracks but overall Animal Cannibal is THE album from that pop era tbh

WHAAAAAT! Boots & Boys is amazing! I like to think of it as the sequel to Kylie's Cherry Bomb, it's got that same dark pop sort of energy

idk for me it was a grower, i didn't pay it much mind back when i was 13, but as i grew up it grew with me

You have no idea how much I’ve wanted this song to randomly click for me and even after all these years it just hasn’t! I don’t think it helps knowing all the demos she recorded for this album and that there are so, so many vastly superior ones even by the same writing/production team. It’s not a bad song per se, it just doesn’t measure up to the highs the other album tracks provide imo.

omg babe do you know which of the unreleased songs are by those same producers? from pure sound I feel like Lost Weekend, Starvin, I Wrote It Down, maybe Strange Love and Save Me? kinda sound like they could be by that same team

It's Tom Neville and NERVO, they also did "VIP" and "**** Him He's A DJ" (both were remastered and released as bonus tracks eventually), and the demos "American Fool" and "Lovers In The Deep End". Tom also independently did "Pretty Lady", and NERVO were involved in "My Best Friend's Boyfriend", "Only Thing on Is the Radio", and "Do You Wanna Know"—the latter of which was sold to Hannah Diamond and probably why this thread's quote exists in the first place.

DO YOU WANNA KNOW WAS SOLD TO HANNAH??? holy sh*t, gotta listen asap. thanks a bunch babe

damnnn yeah those first two are pop perfection, and after listening to the fully mastered HQ of Lovers in the Deep End, that song would’ve been a perfect closing track after the title track tbh!

Animal is such a weird album (in a good way) because you think it’s just gonna be a trashy pop record, but it actually has lots of soul to it as well.
