It's all about branding Well obviously it would be kinda awkward to do it now, but they could've easily done it when Gold/Silver came out. That way gen 1 would end on a nice even 150, and gen 2 on 250. Besides, the National Dex doesn't really exist anymore anyway aside from Home, so I still think they should do it lol.
