She doesnt need to dance, she doesnt need to be able to serve vocals/harmonies, but "shes an incredible musician". Truly, Aretha was right lol 1 5

Every night on her tour, and looks a damn fool doing so. Homegirl should've stayed there on a chair and sang her two basic guitar cords. You don't see people dragging Whitney or Celine and the likes for not being good dancers, because they never attempted to do that. Taylor does. Her discography on the whole is much more upbeat than Whitney and Celine’s. She dances on stage the way her fans in the audience would - it’s not an essential part of her show, it’s something fun she throws in for certain songs. And again, the millions of people going to her tour are not paying to see her slay a choreo routine. Other artists who centered their entertainment value on choreography, find themselves with dwindling appeal as they age. Taylor will be able to do global tours into her 60s with her catalogue of self-written hits and classics. Edited October 11, 2023 by PoisonPill 1
Shelter Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Of course they made this about Beyoncé. How predictable Taylor is not a good dancer. If you already know that, why are you getting upset about it? 1 1
Finkypop Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 The way OTH’s circlejerk around the same talking point every week when nobody cares The slayage is too much to handle lmao 1
PoisonedIvy Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 So anyway in reality we moved past making fun of people for their shortcomings and instead celebrate, uplift, and enjoy the talents that we -do- respect, admire, and adore in our favorite artists. It’d be nice for some of you ATRLers to join us but you’re welcome to keep mumbling and grumbling about Taylor’s dancing for as long as you want to! 3

Truly, Aretha was right lol Her ability of making cohesive albums is just enough for her to be an incredible musician and she doesn't need to serve powerhouse vocals and dance skills for that. I hope this is clear

They are probably bitter that Beyonce didn't have Taylor music career. They have a point. Not every artist can “co-write” songs in their 40s with subject matter such as “yummy yummy yummy make a bummy heated” and “ass gettin thicker, cash gettin thicker”. 1

Beyoncé would never make a video where She dances goofly because no One Is watching you (the concept of the video) cause clearly She Is pathologically obsessed with being perfect in very public frame can exist. Not everyone is attracted by unreachable perfection and especially not everyone has to be forced to be perfect to express him-herself as artist. I'm not in the lady Gaga fanbase but by not being perfect at any cost, but expressing herself often also in a goofly, cringe or unlikeable way Is a more interesting and talented performer than Beyoncé. Like late Whitney Houston or Aretha where, cause they weren't perfect in a way turns predictable and boring like Beyoncé. Edited October 11, 2023 by vale9001 2

Taylor hasn’t written a “high school” breakup song since WANEGBT which was intentionally campy.
Lady Claire Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Performance just isn't Taylor's strength, songwriting is. She actually tried to be a fierce popstar during the rep era but this simply isn't for her, and that's fine. It's not what the fans expect from her, they want some relatable songs, as they feel 'seen' by her. Beyoncé on the other hand is an excellent performer and a powerhouse vocalist, Taylor's opposite. They're not even comparable bc they appeal to different targets, i think we should've known what to expect from her and what to expect from Taylor. 1

Imagine hating on someone because they are too good. 2

You see her perfect moves and hear her powerful vocals, and you strive to become as good in your craft as Beyoncé is in hers. She's the ultimate example of how far you can go with talent and hours and hours of hard work and dedication. She has an unmatched work ethic. Taylor's appeal is... I honestly don't know. I guess it's the same appeal that a Big Mac has for some people. 6 1
