Y'all always come up with this narrative and it's so funny because she IS trying. Every night on her tour, and looks a damn fool doing so.

She doesnt need to dance, she doesnt need to be able to serve vocals/harmonies, but "shes an incredible musician".

Truly, Aretha was right lol

the excuses :deadbanana4: "she looks bad dancing on purpose" "she sings off key on purpose to show emotion"

Poor dancer, horrible singer, zero stage charisma, and great at nothing!

I'd rather her dance bad + make good music, than the other way round :giraffe: Let's just say that

Not a fan of hers at all, but I really do love this song and video, a rare exception. As a package, it seemed actually kind of authentic to me as opposed to her usual 'strategic'. It's probably a combination of both, but at least her best song ever is trending so there's that.

Damn Twitter be kinda ruthless

It’s obviously intentionally “cringe”, but even beyond that it’s supposed to appear to be somewhat improvised looking and interpretive.

Same people think Cardi’s “signing” on Be Careful is bad by mistake. Just totally incapable of consuming art that hasn’t been distilled past the point of being authentic.

10 pages for this :deadbanana2:

this feud between swifties and the beyhive is hilarious:rip: yes the dancing sucks, and yes, it is also the concept, but that's not immediately apparent to people. delicate as a song is a great song though, she could've achieved the video's concept better though. a song that good deserves a better video

Screaming! The flop Hive twitter user who made this tweet is in shambles.

This thread was so incredibly painful to read through I had to give up reading it after the first few pages :rip: seems like some of y'all misunderstood THIQUE and decided to be thickheaded.

Anyway, this exact scene gets discussed every month and people still miss the point every time.. predictably. Hopefully the recent Beyoncé-Taylor reunion will make some of you less insufferable.

the hate for Taylor has actually skyrocketed from what I’ve seen :rip: literally she’s getting dragged on meme on insta and twitter constantly now.

it’s to be expected with such over-exposure, but oof, idk how good this will be in the long run.

whahahah that's the whole point of the video some ppl are just too dumb

but anyway, yes she's not a good dancer but who cares?!?!

The thing about Taylor is the stans better HOPE she stays successful as long as she keeps doing her thing because that is all and I mean ALL she has going for her. Do you really think the average every day person in the GP sits there and says to each other “That Taylor is one talented person!”? No!! No one outside of her massive fanbase takes her that seriously and that’s why the stans resort to acting like this because they can’t stand that other ppl don’t share their delusional reality.

I think my biggest gripe about these discussions around Taylor’s skillset is that they always boil down to some general statement that “Taylor isn’t really a singer or a dancer, but she’s the songwriter of a generation.”

Personally, I don’t care that Taylor doesn’t sing/dance well cause I like a good chunk of her music, but I do find it odd that even in the avenue Taylor is allegedly the queen at, she’s still inconsistent. Why is the  songwriter of a generation tainting her discography with ME!, Karma, Anti-Hero, Gorgeous, and YNTCD?

Oh, yeah... Because Taylor is KNOWN for her powerful vocals :biblio:

Please, it's only recently that she learned how to sing on key (most of the time anyway). Her voice is still weak AF, she doesn't have good projection or breath support, her range is limited, she doesn't play with her larynx, she doesn't add texture to her voice, she is terrible at employing different dynamics, she can't sing a complex vocal run to save her life, etc, etc, etc.

BFR, Taylor is a mediocre singer and a terrible dancer. She doesn't excel at anything. I guess that's why she's so relatable to so many of you...

Well for one, she's actually got solid projection.  Two, her range is solid as well (she goes as low as A2 in Cruel Summer, and high as G#5 in I Did Something Bad (live).

"She doesn't add texture to her voice" is a completely subjective statement.  I personally think she does a great job of adding texture to her voice, especially in songs like You're On Your Own Kid.

"She is terrible at employing different dynamics"...what exactly do you mean by that?

"She is a mediocre singer and a terrible dancer.  She doesn't excel at anything"...why are you leaving out songwriting when that's what she does excel at? It's literally the basis of her career, why she was signed at 14, and what she's gotten the most praise for throughout her career.

This is so dumb because nobody is pretending Taylor is the dancer/performer prime Britney was.  Why do people lack common sense these days? :rip: Taylor's strength is her songwriting, that's how it has always been.  She connects with people through her music and is able to paint a descriptive picture of a situation through her storytelling, that's what has set her apart.  And yeah, she has diven into Pop music and given those songs the spectacle she wants to give them.

Looks like the GP is acclaiming her dancing:

US Apple Music:

158. Delicate [+9]

US Spotify:

152. Delicate [Re-entry]
