Taylor doesn't have a real hit with the gp since LWYMMD. Anti hero doesn't count. If a random track from 1989 is getting 2m streams a day then anti hero which is getting less is just her fans streaming. The individual track numbers from singles like Karma and LH are super low for soneone at her peak

Rap > Pop

But this site is not ready for that conversation

I pity all the OTH that dedicate so much energy trying creating narratives to come at Taylor, while at the same time complaining that she's overexposed. What a miserable existence that must be.

Works for anyone on this forum who is obsessively hating on any artist.

I made some crude joke that gays that prefer hairless, boyish men give pedophile teas. That didn’t go over well.

By omission. Have you ever heard her mention anyone else in her press releases or personal messages to fans? And then publications run with these things.

It just seems weird that publications who pride themselves on doing research continue to treat her as a "first" or a "pioneer" when she stands on the shoulders of icons who have done these things already. If she was mentioned as the person "who executed it best", I would understand.

She doesn't owe them that. Is she supposed to go out of her way to stop publications from praising her

This makes zero sense. :rip:

If Anti-Hero is fanbase driven, why do Karma and Lavender Haze barely get like half of its streams? Why don't same fans stream them?

And Blank Space is not some random track, it is her career's biggest song. If anything, AH doing same daily streams with it shows that it has GP support :gaycatx:

Style which was an underperformance when released is doing more than anti hero too

Because it is viral now. Just like bomb album track from 2017 like Don't Blame Me is approaching 1B streams after going viral. That’s common in the streaming era.

And AH aside, Cruel Summer has 1.2B streams (more than AH) and still doing 4-5M daily, that's the definition of GP hit

I am more in favor of normalizing feminine men and masculine women (breaking gender roles) rather than making up new pronouns/gender identities because some people don't fit the traditonal/conservative gender roles (affirming conservatives' idea of what a man and woman is outside of the biological differences)

Midnight is Taylor's worst album after her debut, it absolutely doesn't deserve its success and it's probably just a compilation of vault songs that she put together ("This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams" my a**).

It has You're Own Your Own Kid though... I used to think Reputa was her worst, bu it's Evermore now.

Is it tho? Because before it was a single it already had 600m from the fan base alone.

It has good songs don't get me wrong (particularly Would'Ve Could've Should've which is a career highlight, I hope it will get the Cruel Summer treatment someday) but the low points are atrocious and these awful songs absolutely don't fit the description of the album in her letter, which makes them even worse.

I do think her letter hyped me too much, but when I red "This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams" best believe I did NOT expect atrocities like Vigilante **** or Bejeweled

It was viral before it became a single. It became a single because it was smashing, it didn’t smash because it became a single.

Cruel Summer in December 2022 - 425M streams (3.5 years)

Cruel Summer this year - 755M (10 months)

The difference is very clear

Taylor Swift’s fan base has become mentally detached from reality more than the Bee Hive ever was. They idolize her past the point of “she’s my favorite singer” into treating her like a God. They’re becoming worse than any K-pop fan group. I think a lot of it is untreated mental illnesses.

Whenever the subject comes up I see several people try to claim cocaine is fine and should be normalized and I have to wonder if that's why so many ATRLers are so braindead.

Chance never had a distribution deal with AMC. His film was distributed by his OWN PRODUCTION COMPANY, House of Kicks. A single google search would have saved you from embarrassment but NO you would rather share this fake narrative instead.

Chance The Rapper To Debut Secret Concert Film 'Magnificent Coloring World' In Select Theaters Next Month - CBS Chicago (cbsnews.com)

Quote

Directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Chance’s House of Kicks and Park Pictures, “Magnificent Coloring World” marks the first time an individual recording artist has distributed a film through AMC.

I'm a little scared to post this, but I dared to have an opinion on Dylan Mulvaney (who now identifies as a lesbian) during the height of the Bud Light scandal earlier this year, resulting in a 3 month ban. I won't repeat what I said but hoping this won't mean another 3 tbh :dancehall3:

Final One:

Republic AND Atlantic have shady dealings with Spotify, whether it be placement payola, secret paid agreements for extra playlisting, etc, and I think a bombshell report will be released in due time. When that first report came out about streaming farms, I noticed several BIG artists (who shall not be named on both rosters) suddenly became mid-range artists or have started on a path of "underperformance". Others, who think of themselves as sly, doubled down.

As for the underperformers: their current music is well in-line with the songs that used to run circles around the competition on Spotify with their eyes closed, which is interesting. Someone seemingly warned their shameless, unscrupulous teams to be careful, and they've notably eased up on their payments.

Two columns remain before the whole castle crumbles, and this streaming corruption era is over.

From Chance's own words: "IM INDEPENDENTLY DISTRIBUTING A FILM..."

Chance's interview with VARIETY where he talks about the struggles of self-distributing a film independently:

https://variety.com/2021/music/news/chance-the-rapper-concert-film-magnificent-coloring-world-1235032259/

Talk about House of Kicks and the challenges and rewards of distributing a film independently.

For one, I didn’t know that it was possible. So once I found out that it was a possibility to be my own studio for my own film, I knew that’s what I should do. And AMC was pretty easy when it came to understanding the vision for it and the amount of cities and the scale of the overall event. I got House of Kicks so I could focus on visual art and making movies, sketches, music videos and concert films. I was shooting a lot in there, and then we got the editing bay together. With us producing so many videos and this being a miniature school for all of us to get better at film production, it made sense for House of Kicks to make “Magnificent Coloring World.” It’s a cool space that serves many purposes. I’ll go over there to do work, have meetings, edit videos or record music, but also the other day I had a date there. My wife and I did a sip ‘n’ paint in the live room and set up a table in the main room and ate fresh berries.

AMC is the exclusive distribution partner for MCB. AMC just provided the theaters and House Of Kicks took care of everything else.

You can go to the AMC website right now and do the same thing chance did if you have the money/resources to self-distribute your film:

Submit Your Film (amctheatres.com)

If you don't know what you're talking about, please STFU and save some energy for both of us.

They aren't really hurting anybody by stanning. Get over yourself.
