Popular Post trainsskyscrapers Posted October 10, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) Taylor Swift + her team have a problem giving other people credit in their marketing and press releases, in an attempt to brand her a trailblazer. All of the following things were listed as "firsts" in her marketing: - Concert Film distribution Deal with AMC (done two years earlier by Chance The Rapper) - Fighting for her masters at the peak of her career (MJ, Prince, Mariah, Janet) - Re-recording music to gain ownership of music while on a major label (Def Leppard in 2012 - while fighting the same label TSwift is currently on) - Working with Max Martin / Ryan Tedder on her crossover to pop (Carrie Underwood - 2009 "Quitter", 2011 "Good In Goodbye") - Fighting for better streaming compensation Edited October 10, 2023 by trainsskyscrapers 24
enchanted0 Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Atrlers are just as obsessed with Taylor Swift as her fans are, if not more. The above post would be a great example, no one on earth knows Carrie Underwood's random album track is produced by Max Martin. 2 8 1 8

Junipero Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 The Gen Zers are about to complain about the next generation of musicians; Gen Alpha are already Teenagers soon and will dictate what the market of music will be. Gen Z just won't get "it" and will be annoyed of the new wave of singers and will slowy tune out of mainstream music; they will throw tantrums about how "overrated" and "untalented" these new singers are. The majority of Gen Z will be "living under a rock" and will be unaware of who is famous. 2 2 1

If she was mentioned as the person "who executed it best", I would understand. 1

Publications aren't doing their research anymore, so when Taylor lists these producers in their press releases, she is treated as "the trailblazer to go where Shania and Faith wouldn't and work directly with pop producers" (something that has already occurred when others have straddled country and pop in the past). It is equally a publication problem as it is a Taylor problem. Edited October 10, 2023 by trainsskyscrapers
popmusicisdead Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 that Chromatica is a terrible album. i got downvoted to hell and back last week for saying so 11

brraap Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 The whole they/them non binary thing in my opinion is a tool used by white kids who want to be oppressed to fit in with minorities and feel like they’re fighting for something instead of acknowledging their privilege. JBJT2786 Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Some of ya wont admit to being racist when it clearly shows. Barbs like to tie Nicki to them getting dragged when half of the drags are directed at just them....not Nicki herself. 3
zzmyth Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Taylor Swift's fans are stans. She is not known by the GP. And I mean that the ones that do not follow her every move, don't even know any of her songs or even know about her at all tbh. 4 1 3
Komet Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Blackout sounds like a collection of demo presets from a mid range 2004 Yamaha keyboard and was out of date one year after its release. Gays tried to gaslight everybody into thinking that it was revolutionary or whatever, but that record is nothing more but an another product of that cheap RnB-tinged mid-2000s sound rather than the trailblazer of late 2000s electropop heard in The E.N.D, Animal, The Fame etc, seeing as they are sonically very much distinct from the aforementioned album. 12 1 6
blown away Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) I got reported yesterday for saying I'm praying for someone's taste buds after they defended Rihanna's first two projects after I called them mixtapes and called SOS her best song Edited October 10, 2023 by blown away 7

I agree on this one, if this album was released during "ordinary circumstances" it would've just been one of Britneys other albums. Her private life made this album "iconic" but not the album itself.

Chance never had a distribution deal with AMC. His film was distributed by his OWN PRODUCTION COMPANY, House of Kicks. A single google search would have saved you from embarrassment but NO you would rather share this fake narrative instead. Chance The Rapper To Debut Secret Concert Film 'Magnificent Coloring World' In Select Theaters Next Month - CBS Chicago (cbsnews.com) People fighting for masters/copyright is a tale as old as music itself. Trying to drag Taylor for this is asinine. Max/Ryan have worked with nearly every popstar. WTF are you talking about? Anyways Taylor was the first one to make Jack Antonoff an actual producer, which has changed the entire indie-pop scene. Yes, Taylor was the only mainstream artist who fought and won for better streaming compensation while the others were too busy building flop streaming services to rig their streaming numbers. Rerecording old hits with new contracts has been here since the 1960s. That is why there are so many rules against it. The fact Taylor is the only one to make it an event with every release and the GP actually gives enough fucks to stream the TVs over the OGs >>>> 9 3

So she should make a single announcement that says "I'm excited to release my new single this Friday - I worked with Max Martin, here is the full list of other artists he has worked with before:"? Honestly an extremely bizzarre thing to criticize an artist for 3 3
