Untalented hack kpop groups like Black Pink and IVE(and many others to be fair) being constantly praised for doing nothing interesting musically or praiseworthy as performers is a huge reason why most regular people don't take kpop seriously at all. There are both great artists and performers working in the genre who are sidelined outside of Korea for the groups with the biggest marketing budget or most expensive music videos.

It's a big reason why kpop only has almost exclusively teenagers or mentally unwell adults as fans abroad. The same thing was an issue with American pop music until poptimism too.

no it's because they are asian

i don't think you'd be reported tbh, most people on here already think you're a joke with this bp obsession and we've learned to live with it :deadbanana2:

"me and members of my fandom have a personal vendetta against you but you're the obsessed one"

Congrats on fulfilling the thread prompt.

Like I said, not all of them are the same and you take that as you will. There are wonderful maps and data to show you which countries (ruled by religious governments) still have death penalty for homosexuality etc.

Like Uganda, a deeply Christian nation? :marshmallow:

Kylie has some bops but she’s overrated and her fanbase has been annoying since Padam :rip:

Cardi B is talentless and her fanbase is only comprised of people who hate Nicki. The fact some of you can say that she’s a better rapper and even called her the queen of rap over Nicki is absolutely laughable.

Nobody off of this site cares, remembers, or even thinks about Britney’s peak.

Musically, she is as “yesterdays news” as yesterdays news can get for the last decade+, and here’s where it’ll really ruffle some feathers: I don’t think it’s because of conservatorship. She was always meant to be a fad and a capture in time who caught magic. She’d have declined and became irrelevant even if her personal life wasn’t a mess.

She’d never have the true staying power of actual artists with legit unique talents like Beyonce or Taylor Swift

Deciding to make a song about social struggles does not make you inherently impactful.

Taylor can make a song about poor people/feminism and I bet it would sell well but ATRL would not count that as "impact".

Nicki Minaj is a reductive Lil Kim clone. Does not matter how big their album units are.

The way hive peddle that "Beyonce changed the release date from Monday to Friday" bullshit but struggle to accept some of the things Taylor pioneered that they would rather make up fake **** instead.

Chance never had a distribution deal with AMC. His film was distributed by his OWN PRODUCTION COMPANY, House of Kicks. A single google search would have saved you from embarrassment but NO you would rather share this fake narrative instead.

Chance The Rapper To Debut Secret Concert Film 'Magnificent Coloring World' In Select Theaters Next Month - CBS Chicago (cbsnews.com)

Concert films are concert films, why does it matter from whom are they distributed? :rip:  Beyonce's team likely planned her tour movie before Taylor's team revealed hers. These type of decisions are not made in a week . The call for theatre reservations, recordings, revenue split and other details were probably discussed times before.

Cardi B is a fraud and a sham who steals lyrics and is better suited to reality television than the rap game. And she knows it too.

But the existence of one disproves your absolutist claim about Islam (we can drop the charade of you hiding behind dogwhistles, we all know what you’re talking about)

So by that same logic Taylor’s team also was planning far in advance as well… :rip:

This whole argument is stupid but it you have to admit it is quite funny to watch some particular users pretend not to care when if the order was reversed and Bey had announced her deal first, they would be telling an entirely different story :priceless:

Taylor doesn't have a real hit with the gp since LWYMMD. Anti hero doesn't count. If a random track from 1989 is getting 2m streams a day then anti hero which is getting less is just her fans streaming. The individual track numbers from singles like Karma and LH are super low for soneone at her peak

Tbh, I don't think hits in the 2020's are remembered all that well with the gp in general compared to pre-COVID hits due to the decline of mass media and everything being fragmented/playlisted.

I remember literally having to tell my 40+ coworkers the names of certain songs and which artists made them when they played on the radio. It was especially funny when "As I Was" would play and they'd be shocked when I told them it was a Harry Styles song or when "Blinding Lights" would play and they'd swear that it was an old song from the 80's lol.

Taylor outside 1989 isn't really much of a traditional hitmaker.  She's more of a Lana/Phoebe Bridgers songwriter type of artist who focuses on albums and deep cuts more than catchy singles as opposed to a Rihanna/Katy/Gaga style hitmaker. She just has hits to draw attention to her albums as opposed to making her hits define her career.

Folklore & Evermore are 2 albums I really respect for the clear amount of talent it took to write them, but my god they DRAG at certain points. Noticed when I tried to listen I would have to put forth much more effort than I should listening to music to continue onwards

i kinda agree. folklore is great, but it's bogged down by it's long tracklist. a 10-13 song tracklist would've made the album much more enjoyable the whole way through. evermore is kinda one of my least favourite taylor albums, it would've also benefitted from a reduced tracklist.

I think I got reported because I said Tina Turner was way superior when compared to Beyonce.

Beyonce fans are the worst, every pop music forums out there if u talk anything other than praise for beyonce, they make sure u are banned for racism.

I cant with that god like treatment.
