simon Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 I don’t care what anyone says but “Autobiography” should have been amongst the great pop/rock female albums like “Breakaway” & “Let Go.” I was listening to Autobiography the other day and it’s hit after hit after hit after hit! 9
nostalgic Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 YOU MAKE ME WANNA LA LA IN THE KITCHEN, ON THE FLOOR I'LL BE A FRENCH MAID WHEN I MEET YOU AT THE DOOR I'M LIKE AN ALLEY CAT DRINK THE MILK UP I WANT MORE 3 2
dumbsparce Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) I'm a Britney stan but Ashlee has my most-played 2008 album so that alone is telling on how much I love her. Her potential was never fully realized and it sucks that we were robbed of the many great songs she'd create had she not dropped off the face of the earth. Edited October 10, 2023 by dumbsparce 1

EliMaraj Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Autobiography is still one of the best pop-punk debuts of all time. We're ready Ms. Simpson! 2
Trent W Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 (edited) One of the best of the 00s I wish she would’ve kept going, she has few mis-steps but with more effort she could’ve made a big come back Now all I want from her is new music! Edited October 10, 2023 by Trent W

Hook Up Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Boyfriend is genuinely one of the best pop-rock singles from that era. I welcome the Ross dynasty descendant back with open arms.
Mr. Duff Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 A pop-rock album from Ashlee?!?! This would be insane, can’t wait! I need more of In Another Life and Better Off! More emo pop-rock angsty songs please! 2
The Man Who Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 All 3 of her albums were all killer and zero filler. Not a single skip. 3

I didnt even notice cuz I was changing the OP link we need the Ashlee Simpson Show back so bad 18 hours ago, havewemet said: Still find it so strange that SNL-gate ended her career. Our blind dislike for any type of lip syncing (when almost every pop artist employs the use of playback - or are even required to use it in certain live situations on TV) has poisoned so much dialogue about music. She shouldn’t have had to feel embarrassed in the first place. We all know if she sang live and sounded bad the reaction would have been equal, if not worse. Happy to hear she feels ready to make new music. Autobiography is a nearly bulletproof album and Undiscovered is an emotional masterpiece. SNL didn't really end her career, it damaged her reputation not allowing her to be seen as a more authentic/credible artist (which was her shtick at the time / not wanting to be "another manufactured popstar") but her follow up still went #1, platinum, sold out tour, went back to SNL and did well etc. It was the break she took and overall change (look and sound) she came back w for the 3rd album (which also had a botched rollout) that did her in. The SNL thing just sadly became the most memorable moment for the GP because she hasn't stayed active in the spotlight and mostly just focused on her family, some acting and never bothered to properly try again so she never got to control the narrative of her career in the last decade+ The way the media blew it out of proportion and how she was treated right after was absolutely vile tho Edited October 10, 2023 by okgo 2 1
Valance Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Autobiography & I am me SLAY. 2004-2005 was truly the peak of pop rock
