If it's something egregious like rape, sexual assault, etc, then I cannot ignore it. But for example if it's a problematic action that doesn't necessarily hurt anyone but themselves (Lana's QFTC, Ariana homewrecking queen, Charli being insufferable) then I can easily separate the art and move on with my life THIS! I used to love lostprophets but there aren’t enough words to describe how vile Ian Watkins is. I haven’t listened to any of their music since he was arrested and it’s like any love I had for their music has completely vanished now. I don’t miss them at all.
Reginald Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 (edited) It's almost necessary, especially if you're consuming any art from before the 21st century. Social norms, ethics, and morals have progressed at breakneck speed in the past 50 years. My favorite rock artist is not a good person and I don't think that I would even want to meet him. As the saying goes, "don't meet your heroes." Edited October 9, 2023 by Reginald
Prodigal Self Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 If the music is good then the music is good, I'm gonna take all the little enjoyable things I can in this miserable ass life
