Madonna's version also had the legendary Babyface behind it. Rihanna had Ne-Yo, who's good but he's no Babyface.

There's a reason Madonna's "Take a Bow" is her longest running US #1 and biggest radio smash 

 

Rih's is cute, but Madonna's is one of her most underrated

to be fair, madonna's take a bow sounds like a typical standard torch ballad from 1994 that celine dion, toni braxton, paula abdul, or whoever could've released. it was her safe commercial return. still better than rihanna's though, yeah.

Madonna's and by a lot. I never go back and listen to Rihanna's, one of her worst hits imo.

I LOVE Rihanna's Take a Bow but Madonna's Take a Bow is literally my favorite Madonna song.

madonna's is great really tho neither are in the top 10 of their songs, not even singles. But i grew up with Rih's track so went with her.
