Why is reggaeton still popular in latino music?

Regional mexican music has blown up a ton this year with Peso Pluma at the forefront, are you living under a rock :rip:

Im from Southamerica and its exhausting sometimes.
I dont have anything against reggaeton cause it can co-exist with other genres and there are some bangerz but it has such a monopoly in the latino industry Since 2006.  Is the music people listen by default-pushed by default.
Latinoamerica used to be as diverse as the States-Europe in the past but reggaeton is like 80% of the music here now. U cant escape from it.

Yll had bubblegum pop-r&b-electror&b-hip hop-pop punk-electrohouse-dubstep-indie-alternative-tropical house-dancehall-country-synthwave-disco-bedroom pop-synthpop........multiple genres dominating the whole two decades in the states. Youre all very lucky and privileged in that sense. Yll live diversity everyday and everything is very exciting

Here is reggaeton and more reggaeton and rarely something different turns into a big hit :biblionana: Is like eating chicken everyday for years.
u JUST GET done with it.

Some of the people defending this dont live in Latinoamerica and are not even latino.

Tons and tons of underlooked artists by the labels cause they dont sing reggaeton

Callate blanca - Revista Furias

I just prefer bachata, salsa, merengue, & latin pop like in the 90s and 2000s.
