Drake to take "leave of absence" from music

Recommended Posts

He has confirmed it himself in an interview with SiriusXM this morning.

He says, following the release of this album, he “won’t be making music for awhile” and will be “taking a break”.

He needs to semi-retire and then come back in 2027 with a CLASSIQUE (no mixtapes in between either).

If we can wait for R9, we can also wait for D9 and I think we need to at his point.

Please make it indefinite

He says it’s for gastrointestinal issues.

I’m not a fan (far from it, for many reasons) but I’ve been dealing with similar problems I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt that it isn’t an excuse.

I wish him well. I’ll leave it there.

They said it would be someone that hasn't released music in a while though, and drake released 3 full length albums in the last less than a year :rip:

Drake peaked in 2016-2018 with “Views-More Life-Scorpion”, commercially anyway. Musically, he peaked in 2011-2015 with “Take Care-IYRTITL-NWTS”.

He’s still in his prime and is still successful but the artistry has drastically declined and so has the chart longevity.

Of course he can repeak (ie. Taylor Swift) but I think he needs new perspective and these quick releases as of late are just messy and discombobulated. :gaycatx:

He got his masters and started to release yearly I wonder if it was his deal or he just wanted to recoup quickly following the Rihanna print.
