Mainstream AI is censored but there are already third party AI apps which are used to do things which mainstream ones censor

In addition to these people being public figures, who have different legal protections than those of private citizens, the legalities of AI training sets are pretty complex and there are court cases in the works to start to make these determinations. A lot of these training sets have been run on an “if it’s out there, we can use it” approach. I wouldn’t be too shocked if the high accuracy of this new tool in replicating public figures’ faces brings new legal challenges, though, because it’s definitely been trained on copyrighted imagery, and to what degree works based on that imagery might constitute infringement is complicated. If this tool or related/subsequent tools can take a private individual’s name and generate a reliably convincing image of them, it gets even more complicated. I don’t think our legal systems were even really built to anticipate this kind of possibility. 3

I wonder if most industries are genuinely very close to being over Could this be why so many singers are selling their catalogs? Edited October 1, 2023 by Saintlor 1

I bet X and other big social media will be able to detect fakes and put up disclaimers under tweets/posts. These AI scenario machines would need some kind of mandatory watermark though. 1

B-Luke Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Being able to upload pictures of ourselves or people we know personally would add another layer of scary imagine that

Singers selling their catalogs and film people (Reese Witherspoon is a memorable example) selling their production companies has always had an air of “cash in now because the whole thing’s about to collapse” imo. Probably has less to do with AI and more to do with the fact that music/film streaming companies, radio companies, etc are mostly running on hot air and hopes and dreams and don’t actually have money. That, and the fact that venture capitalists are actively destroying everything on purpose. 1 1
Maroonx Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 SMH with some of these... Some are actually good/funny
