She probably invested a lot on this movie and wants to recoup as much as possible.. so it will probably be premiered in theaters and then be sold to some straming platform. I understand that it would be smarter to release the visuals closer to the album, but movies take a lot of time to be made esp if there's CGI involved. The whole renaissance era would have been delayed for a year if she decided to release them at the same time

There were 6 years between Lemonade and Renaissance for her to take care of all that

Taylor’s impact?  Taylor is not the first to release anything in AMC.. Spice Girls, U2, Katy Perry just to name a few. I know you Taylor fans are brain dead but yeah

I’ve been thinking years ago that naturally Beyoncé’s next step for visual album release would be to put it in the big screen. Yeah I also don’t want it to flop, but if the Renaissance visuals are up there in quality, then I would say it’s deserving of being shown in theaters.

Katy Perry - Paramount Pictures

Spice Girls - Universal Pictures 

U2 - National Geographic Entertainment 

 

All of them worked with studios, not theaters.
