A reach. Really “following in her footsteps” would be finding inspiration her performance aesthetics and concepts and marketing strategies like taylor has done with Beyoncé several times.

Taking a theatrical release strategy originated by someone else and executing the exact same strategy with your own concert film is a "reach"?

Cause this is exactly what's happening here. Beyoncé is taking what Taylor did and applying it for herself. That is indeed "following in her footsteps", as it's being pointed out by industry publications.

Except it's not about theatrical concert films. Those have existed for ages, so how did Taylor follow "Beyoncé's footsteps" when Beyoncé did not originate this concept to begin with?

Meanwhile what Taylor did originate is the concept of working with AMC Theater not only as an exhibitor, but as a distributor. This is completely new business model for the company, as AMC themselves put it:

This is why you have a reputable industry source like Variety make a statement about how this Beyoncé deal is like the one that Taylor made:

Beyoncé is not following Taylor's example in making a theatrical concert film. She's following her footsteps by not working with a traditional studio and directly going to AMC instead.

They will not see facts, dont bother.

Exactly, this time it's about BUSINESS MOVES and the truth is Beyoncé saw what Taylor did and decided to do it too, that's how inspiration works :gaycat2:

Theres something wrong with that fanbase, they're really insecure and will play the race card at any given opportunity, or scream "racist!1" at anyone who doesn't agree with them :priceless:

you & other fellow pests have been camping in this thread for 9 pages,  we get it

y'all can cry all you want, nothing will change the fact that this will qualitatively obliterate your beloved family friendly circus show, which will be evident to anyone over the age of 12 with functioning eyes and ears :celestial6:

They’re splitting hairs over the business deal side of it because AMC cut Beyoncé a similar deal to the one taylor got. They really want taylor to have influence over Beyoncé.

Not everything is about business deals with AMC that you will never make and money you’ll never touch either. Beyoncé refused business deals that are worse than what her white contemporaries were offered as she should. Inspiration is more like taylor copy pasting Beyoncés aesthetics and themes for her performances and dropping her albums out of the blue like beyoncé

Beyoncés been in negotiations for a while about this movie and saw that taylor got a good deal that gives her a bunch of profit and now beyoncé is rightfully not settling for less than what amc offered taylor

Not that user acting like Taylor using marching bands and posing in a specific way is her way of copying Beyonce while arguing about how Beyonce copy pasting Taylor's theatrical release just weeks later is totally different in the very same post

Why is it assumed that the music videos will be included in this concert movie? It makes no sense.

Is it our problem you are too fragile and dumb to handle a conversation about the complexity of race? Why are you bothered by it?  And speaking of, YOU brought up the race card in this thread. Clearly both have been shopping around for deals for a while and Taylor got to the better business deal first.  Go suck her **** some more elsewhere.

Because Beyoncé is one of my faves and I'm happy she's one of the most successful/relevant women of the decade, but her fanbase really has some of the worst, most unbearably delusional people I've thankfully never met :coffee2:

Why are Swifties perched in every Beyonce thread trying to find ways to diminish her success?

We don't care about Taylor. Y'all can go and break every theatrical record in existence to watch Taylor twirling in her gowns on stage with her screechy vocals for all we care. No need to drag Beyonce down every time you feel insecure.

Why would Beyoncé accept an offer less than what taylor is getting for her theatrical film? Was Beyoncé supposed to take a lesser offer than what amc offered her so that idiotic stans don’t accuse her of stealing from taylor? The performance art side of things though, yeah taylor looks to Beyoncé there. I get that swifties don’t like to admit that and wanna one up every female in the game but yeah, maybe stick to grosses and spotify streams for those kind of arguments. Beyoncé is still the blueprint for how the girls play the game.

I am glad taylor did the theatrical release of her concert to remind Beyoncé she’s done that before and push her to do it again??
