Boysdontcry Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Honestly I never really cared about Camila passing on this song. It would've changed her first album so much if she'd of been on this & it smashed still. We probably wouldn't have gotten Havana. Also, the romantic tension wouldn't have worked as well. Camila was only just 19 at the time & Drew's almost 10 years older than her. With Halsey being born in 1994 she was much more suited for the song in terms of her age.

Twilish Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 She kinda ate the bridge ad libs and the final chorus but the quality isn’t doing it justice
SchmoodRing Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I'm gonna need her to work with them and actually give them/her a hit. I'd love for her to have her own Closer moment. Everytime she works with a DJ it always falls through. I want her work with Diplo, Major Lazer, Zedd, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake to actually come out!
Hustler Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 I think it would’ve still smashed, BUT Halsey’s take is probably unmatched. though I have to say the Mila-libs at the end would’ve been iconic.
Frozen99 Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 makes you appreciate xtina's screeching, this was... something.
blown away Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 It's not terrible, but Halsey did a better job
MonsterTown Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 sounds to much fifth harmoniesh vocals, this would sound different if she sing it now that's for sure
popmusicisdead Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 (edited) imagine the fumes on this place if Camila had released Closer and The Middle. not to mention Someone You Loved which was planned but Lewis Capaldi refused Edited October 1, 2023 by popmusicisdead
