This is not her apartment.

This is another apartment that she owns

So... it is her apartment :deadbanana4:

She may not live there, but if she owns it, it is hers :deadbanana4:

It happened privately and then it was reported on after the fact. I don't understand how that confuses you. Taylor's team doesn't talk to Page Six, so whoever chose to publicize it came from somewhere else. As I said before, it could be Sophie's team (who want to publicize the good deed to make Joe Jonas look even worse), or more likely it's someone who heard about it from a friend of a friend who wanted to get a quick buck or even have their information out in the limelight. Either way, Taylor had no ulterior motives here because Taylor didn't publicize it. If she had, the story would've been in People.

Besides the fact you have no idea who Taylor or her team talks to, my point still stands. If the parties involved (Taylor, Sophie, “she”)wanted this to be private, we wouldn’t be here talking about it right now.

I've always thought of Taylor as the Margaery Tyrell of pop.  Both are intelligent, calculating, and ambitious, as well as kind, generous, and caring.  These qualities are not mutually exclusive.

Not to be gaylor’d but wow the way she’s being so brazen about this jock guy to distract from how brazen she’s being with her new girlfriend. Sophie’s already living in her property?  :soda:

so she's helping a mother in need and all you can't think of is cunnilingus? sick!

taylor has a heart of gold we don't deserve her :clap3:

Girl I've been up Taylor's ass since her mom was doing her PR back in the mid 2000s before she hired her first PR person (let alone her second), so I know exactly what a planted story from her team looks like :deadbanana4:

And I was pushing back against your point that Taylor must have leaked the story for nefarious purposes, not that it got out. I doubt Taylor had any strong feelings about the story becoming public, but it does suit Sophie's divorce case for it to be public, and it obviously suits any non-famous person who got ahold of the information for it to be public.

Taylor still got dragged for this?

Not you acting as if this isn't direct PR from Taylor :deadbanana:

You think Tree Paine, Taylor’s publicist, is capable of posting tweets and creating products for Heinz ketchup? Comments from Arby’s? Writing articles in vogue that reference Taylor’s chicken strip dinner????

Taylor’s PR is one woman. If she is responsible for Taylor being quite literally everywhere in media you have unearthed a deity among humans.

i know you’re severely overestimating Taylor’s publicist. She’s not paying all these companies to write about Taylor, these companies are writing about Taylor because it gets -them- guaranteed traffic and revenue.

Congrats on doing that with your time. wastedpotential indeed

But don’t put words in my mouth. I never even implied that she leaked this for nefarious purposes, let alone said that that’s what she “must have” done.

The OP asked for our thoughts and my thoughts are that when people who have the ability to keep things private intentionally choose not to do so, it’s because they have motives for the information to be public. What those motives are, you tell me. You know her so well

My conjecture would be that they like the attention. How hard would it be to be like soph maybe be discreet about this. Or taytay sorry but you know that would bring unwanted attention to me and my young children so I’ll have to respectfully decline.

The thing is I never said Taylor's publicist was paying all those companies, neither did I mention any of them (you did actually). My original comment was regarding the information this thread is about (Taylor loaning her New York apartment to Sophie). Either of their teams put this information out, and I think that's unnecessary, this should be private information.

This is one of the many ways PR works. A team tells a news outlet and that's why they say "a source told them". And as a matter of fact, Taylor's publicist might be one woman but there's obviously a whole team with her with many other people to coordinate marketing actions and such.

Next step is a Dear Joe type of record that goes top 10 featuring Sophie

All it takes is Sophie telling a close friend who tells a different close friend and that friend runs off to sell a story like this. It’s not like we know for sure that Taylor or Sophie wanted this to be publicized and despite what you say, celebrity’s secrets or private lives get published all the time even if they don’t want them to be. Or hell, paparazzi in New York KNOW Taylor Swifts property. All it takes is seeing Sophie enter and exit a couple times to put two and two together. I’m sorry but there’s just so many other scenarios for this to have become a story besides Taylor or Sophie’s PR teams “wanting” this to be a story.

You’re right. Your guess is as good as mine. None of us actually know a thing about these people. Cheers for the healthy discussion!

Not broke but Taylor’s spare penthouse is likely much nicer than an apartment she can get on short notice. She’s also aiming to go back to London with the kids so likely doesn’t want to sign long term lease in nyc.

Several of Taylor’s friends have stayed in that penthouse while they were between housing. Cara stayed there for a bit after her breakup.

Sophia also is going to be spending a lot on lawyers so it makes sense to conserve money where she can . Taylor’s place also likely comes with some security and staff that Sophia doesn’t have to pay for or manage.

Why would she have ulterior motives if this wasn't something she "must have" done?
