Elephants are so beautiful, smart and gentle and to see people torture them for tourism or hunt them down is disgusting. It broke my heart when I visited a sanctuary in Chang Mai where they bring the ones abused for tourism in Thailand. Some of them were so broken and scared and it was so visible in their eyes. (The sanctuary didn’t allow any feeding, riding or bathing. You would basically hang out and see them from a distance unless the elephant wanted to approach and interact with you).
