Another case of selective outrage. People on Twitter (and even in this thread) were defending Emma up and down saying "Emma would never! We stan Emma regardless yass, etc." but I guarantee you if it were transphobia coming from a celebrity that they didn't like, torches would've been set on fire already.

 

Glad Angelica received her well-deserved apology, although far too late.

In the video posted about “transphobia on set” from years ago, did those people come out to back Angelica’s claims? When that Glee girl got accusations thrown at her, multiple people came forward to say it was true and she was terrible. Has the same happened here? Surely if she said this so boldly on set SOMEONE had to have heard her to back up the claim.

Sorry but you can miss me trying to make this solely about her being black and trans. Has nothing to do with my stance. The situation doesn’t make any sense.

 

She has held onto this rage about that incident for years, rants about it publicly right before the premiere of a show she’s no longer on but Emma still is, claims it was an extremely transphobic thing said, and then so easy accepts a single phone call apology and doesn’t even want Emma to apologize publicly despite her clearly caring enough to air it out publicly?

 

Also this was apparently said ON SET but no one else has backed her story? 

 

Sorry I’m not an imbecile who thinks every story is black and white. As I said, Emma probably said or did something offensive but I highly doubt it was as dramatic as Angelica sold it.

 

And I don’t necessarily think there’s much going on in your noggin to care about your opinion of my posts.

This never warranted anything other than a private apology from Emma to Angelica, which seems to have happened. If a straight friend made a joke at my expense that crossed my boundaries I would just tell them and leave it at that. Attempting to shame and cancel her 5 years later over a joke that didn't land frankly is not a good look for Angelica

Yes there is a serious case of victim complex by Angelica Ross. If Ross is a stable person without Any mental health issues then taking transphobic offense to not being a lady is ridiculous. 

A lady is always a woman. A woman is not always a lady. It's more behavior. A lady is a type of woman.  Not being a lady can mean being a mean woman, a loud woman, a messy woman. Not being a lady does NOT mean being a man. And since Emma said Angelica was "being mean" (Angelica's own recollection of events) she was talking about behavior not gender.  Like I wrote in the other thread, "the opposite of woman is man but the opposite of lady is not gentleman." And when people say a woman is not acting "lady like" it doesn't mean they are acting like a gentleman. 

 

So stop trying so hard to bring that user down for arguing with someone that doesn't even know the difference between lady and woman.

The thing being missed here is that Emma isn't her friend - she's a coworker, who is being rewarded by Angelica's former employer despite the overall negative experience on set. 

 

I think instead of comparing it to a friend you'd be more patient with, it'd be similar to a coworker making jokes at your expense that he thought was fine about being gay and then seeing years later he's now an upper-level manager, promoted by the boss who kept promising you a pay raise was coming and never did so you quit.

But Angelica was the one that initiated the "playful banter." She threw the first joke at Emma's "expense." Emma's response was just a reply to Angelicas joke. Also the joke was not transphobic. Not being a lady doesn't mean being a man.
