Unless there’s proof these things mean nothing to me personally. Anyone can make a claim for 2 minutes of fame.

So weird how our actual court system works “innocent until proven guilty” but social media is “guilty until proven innocent”

They’ll drag you for this but you spilled :coffee:

This isn’t surprising. She seems like a huge a hole, I’m better than you type despite being a semi decent actress from nepotism. But then if she’s just playing herself she isn’t even all that decent. Plus the whole domestic violence issue and we got someone who doesn’t seem like a nice person. That and her being a ryan Murphy fave and we know how problematic he and his sets are, and how it’s like a clique and if you aren’t a fave you’re treated less than.

We don’t care usually neither do the GP

You say that as if the GP cares about Emma or AHS. Look up the ratings for this show. :skull:

The only people who care about this incident, Angelica Ross, Emma Roberts, Ryan Murphy, American Horror Story, Pose, Scream Queens or any other Ryan Murphy shows are gay men (usually white or black). Completely niche and irrelevant. :skull:

Emma's a weirdo plain and simple. Imagine saying that to a trans woman's face?? :deadbanana4: Treat people with respect.

Didn’t Emma recently basically walk passed secret service and was telling him to move out the way very rudely? Lol she seems like a lil nightmare.

I don't care I'm very much used to it on this forum and IRL after living in California for 10 years. Far left social liberals do the same radical things the far right does, but think it's ok because they're doing it for "good reasons" like making grandiose assumptions about someone that could ruin their career because a marginalized person made a claim.

People saying "Angelica wouldn't lie about something like that" like they KNOW her :deadbanana4:

Remember Jussie Smollett faking his homophobic attack for 2 minutes of fame? How the entire internet would have immediately backed him saying "He'd NEVER make something like that up!" and then it was proven to be true?

Stop thinking that anyone who is marginalized is incapable of wanting their 2 minutes of fame and aren't capable of stretching the truth or blatantly lying. There's a reason Angelica waited until AFTER her time working with Ryan Murphy and right before a new season premiere to bring this up. She now isn't risking a role and its prime time for it to gain traction online. Anyone in Hollywood is calculated. Blindly believing one person with no proof or evidence is horseshit. I'm not saying Emma DIDN'T do what's accused. But so far, there's nothing to prove she did.

So it looks like Angelica has been saying it for a while without naming names...

Yeah, I found the timing of this interesting. Obviously #ImWithHer because transphobia is unacceptable, but why wait until now? Why did nobody else on set report this or note this?

She had the opportunity to open some floodgates on what it's like BTS working on a Murphy production and didn't. But here I am telling a Black trans woman how she could have done better, so maybe I should sit this one out.

I feel like I implicitly answered this above. Angelica’s resume is very weak. Outside of Ryan Murphy, nobody was checking for her. She’s not gonna upset the one person casting her by attacking one of his bigger muses, unless she knows the bridge is burned there. We can say this calls into question Angelica’s convictions or priorities, but the rationale is clear.

I’m not sure if you have trouble reading, so you have to resort to arguing against points that weren’t made instead of the points that were made, but I never said marginalized individuals are incapable of lying or manipulating the public, nor did I say we should take claims made against people at face value. All I said is the burdens for a criminal proceeding are different from judgements everyday people make, because the precedent set by the state making a hasty judgement is different than the precedent of private citizens doing so.

We all make assumptions about people based on hearsay, regardless of whether or not we have personally verified those stories. For example, you would not set your best friend up with someone who had domestic abuse allegations against him, just because he wasn’t formally convicted. Nor would you hire someone who has a reputation for making racist statements to lead DEI events at your company just because you haven’t seen those statements get made.

Yes, social media and celebrity culture can allow for witch hunts, and in general it is up to us to do due diligence in regards to what we believe, but it is not surprising why the assumption of innocence is not the same between criminal trials and everyday interpersonal relationships.

there’s two sides of the story. unless she is tweeting openly racist, transphobic and homophobic stuff. this is all unsubstantial.

So many people trying to side with Emma here is quite shocking to me? :biblio:

Everytime people say something bad about Emma behind the cameras. Why would anyone surprise? She is like a cringey, uneducated white K*ren. I used to love her so much but there is something about her really off-putting. Thats why she would never have a big legacy.

I would be more inclined to believe this if it didn’t come on the heels of this Marvel situation?

This isn't giving what you think it's giving. She said a joke about transphobia on set while surrounded by her cast mates. She was being facetious in that particular moment.

The other girl said, "...in the nicest way."  They literally made a joke.

The thing is, Emma specifically has no impact on Angelica‘s in(ability) to get cast in a Marvel project. If she wanted to get back at Ryan Murphy she’d specifically call out what he did to enable transphobic bullying on set, rather than center the drag on Emma Roberts specifically. Instead, she doesn’t even explicitly say that Ryan Murphy knew about the transphobia, just that someone in production reprimanded a previous star for complaining about Emma’s behavior, and that she didn’t bring this matter to production because of it.

Yes, she’s broadly critiquing the toxicity of the set on a Murphy show, so in some ways this is still her getting back at Ryan ahead of the new season, but under your scenario, why would Angelica just pick a random cast member to drag harder rather than Ryan himself?

Because she is the "star" of the show, so it makes headlines.

I mean it just kind of seems like her initial comments about Ryan didn’t get the attention she wanted and then she pivoted to this :katie:

If Emma said it **** ha! But I just find it all comes across a bit disingenuous…
