GraceRandolph Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Rebecca Black’s debut album and second major project received polarized reactions from critics. Do you think this was deserved?
shookspeare Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I never listened to it but crumbs was kind of a bop so probably not. poor rebecca
Galaxy Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 Yes. Maybe if she had made more songs like Crumbs and Misery Loves Company...
Ewan Chaos Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) Given the fact that a 68 these days is like a 52 about ten years ago, definitely deserves higher It's not my favorite album of the year by a long shot but it's still enjoyable. Edited September 18, 2023 by Ewan Chaos
Mr. Mendes Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 68 is not really polarizing. That’s pretty firmly in the “generally positive reviews” camp

aesthetic bih Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 It's a good album, so I'll put it at the 70s tier at least rather than 60s
brooklyndaddy Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 I think that’s a fair score for a maybe slightly above average pop album. The issue is very plain and not as good dressed pop albums get higher scores… I think 68/100 sounds very fair (essentially 7/10) but most of the pop albums sitting from 75-90 should really be like 50s
Scandalous Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 it’s at least on par with GUTS in terms of quality so they should have the same score
