I don't think Beyoncé is necessarily petty, she just doesn't respond to or entertain controversy. I can't remember the last "fued" she was in because everyone who's come for her (Kelis, Kid Rock, Keri etc.) could've just been talking to a brick wall

I can see what you mean, but I think Beyoncé's "petty" is more effortless, unbothered-seeming and funny.

 

Her pettiness doesn't stoop low nor involve immaturity. It's more like she's so above the drama that anything she does in response (or not) feels petty by nature of even slightly involving herself. For example, removing the Kelis sample as if it was no big deal feels petty in the same way that instantly blocking someone is. It simply eliminates the issue without addressing it. Petty, yes, but also kind of mature, not engaging further.
