I don't have the data for that. My BF wanted to make pancakes so I walked to Wendys to get Wifi for y'all.
Citrus Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Episode 8 - Buy Buy Birdie Judges' Critiques Moonchild said... Quote Faye: Your humor here was great and it made your entry entertaining to read. Your card set is one of the best items of the night, too. I loved your references, and there were so many. I liked how you tied in the abilities to match the card, too (haste from Lola’s Café was brilliant). Unfortunately, your other merchandise didn’t reach the same level of quality. All of your makeup products were stock images, so they didn’t give me a sense of your brand. With a product like makeup, I’d rather have seen you design your own eyeshadow palette or lipstick colors with on-brand color names. Your merchandise needs to be uniquely you, and your makeup wasn’t (though I did laugh at the .gif). Your clothing was a little better but it had the same problem. I wanted more items like the first shirt and the hoodie. The rest felt generic and rushed. Your runway looks like a severe businesswoman from Final Fantasy, and I’m buying it. The outfit is gorgeous and the headpiece somehow works really well. The hair and coat are a bit too similar in color and I’d prefer a neater hairstyle, but that’s just nitpicking. I like this a lot. Colleen: I feel like your merchandise fits the luxurious image you go for, but I wasn’t sold on what you had to offer. First, why would you name a cover album after yourself n? And since it is a cover album, how does it represent your own artistry and brand? I wish you had recorded some of the covers or written an original song so there was a bit more to go on. Perfume feels like an odd choice for this competition. We can’t smell it, so there’s no way for us to judge it. The fragrance doesn’t seem thought out, either. You list rose and cinnamon, but that’s about it. What are the top notes, the heart notes, the base notes? And why should I buy your champagne over a more established brand? I’m a bit confused as to who your audience is, too. I don’t think most of the Drag Race audience would go to a drag show and buy a queen’s perfume and champagne. Your runway is okay, but there’s not much to it besides a cinched business jacket and a ribbon choker. I’m not sure if those are compelling enough to stand on their own. Noah: I think you did a good job here. Your merchandise gives us more of what we already like, which means you know your brand. Your origami is unique and inexpensive, so you’ll get lots of sales. Your pads are a bit bland but props for targeting that female Drag Race audience. Your EP was a lot of fun, and I’m ready to buy a Silver Plate remix EP on iTunes. Your runway is your best look so far, and I’m kinda living for this Tin Woman fantasy. Stone: I can tell you tried, but this entry came across as uninspired. “Floral eleganza” doesn’t represent the Stone I’ve seen so far here, and I don’t think any of your items represented you much either. It feels more like an Etsy shop than Stone the drag queen. You could’ve had a pet rock that people could dress up with accessories like Mrs. Potato Head, or something fun and out there. I like your calendar, though. And all of your items are practical enough to make at least some sales, so props there. I like your executive realness. I think you could have gone with different colors for your sunglasses and nails, but those are minor complaints and color blocking is fun. Gladys: Come all the way through, sis! I’m slain. Coloring books seem like the perfect merchandise for your brand, and I like your cute social media campaign and DragCon plans. Get that collector money with the Nendoroids. Ready for them to sell for $300 on eBay once they’re out of print. Body pillows are a fun item, too, and I’m sure you’ll sell out at your Japan show if nothing else (send me a male one). Your items are so cohesive and represent your brand well. I think this is your best week so far. Your runway is cute, too. I like the color palette, cape and oversized accessories you have going on. No complaints here. Lola: This entry felt very you, which is good. Condoms and lube are common items, but you market them in a Lola way and I’m sure you’d sell a lot of those at the club. Your autobiography chapter was so touching, and I encourage you to keep writing. Your dolls are stunning and I don’t even know how you did that tbh. You put your heart and soul into this entry, and it shows. Great job! I didn’t expect to see Snow White here, but this is cute! It’s well put together and I could tell this was your look the moment I saw it. Aciid said... Quote Excuse my brief critiques, I’m sick currently and I wasn’t going to submit them at first. But I thought I’d just do quick ones. (Include this in the post) Faye Shull Love the cards, slayed that 100%. You’re other 2 fell short in comparison and the designing wasn’t my favorite. They needed to be funnier too. Colleen You kept an aesthetic up with all your products that I was looking for. I take this as a design challenge and you had that hands down. I liked your video a lot and thanks for opening up like that. Your seriousness in your drag is something I enjoy and it’s quite fresh instead of just trying to be funny all the time. Noah Your first item is a talent and it’s a unique one, I have no complaints. Your second one is funny, but since I’m a design/branding oriented person I’m just like meh at it. The album is a 10/10. I can’t take how serious you sound singing those lyrics tho. Your runway is also amazing. Stone The head floral piece was a good start off, just a bit basic and not what I would relate immediately to the Stone brand. Your calendar has a lot of effort, and it shows. Designing is clearly not your forte though, no shade. But still impressed by what you did. Liked most of the looks you offered. The bong was a cool way to make usage of your name. Gladys Every one of your items made sense with your persona and were unique, interesting and cool. Having a set aesthetic and character pays off. Lola Cabezas Your book was exceptional and I loved reading it. Thought the lube and the condoms were cute, not my fave but it was a nice mix. The dolls were a surprise, I’m assuming you did the clothes and took the pics? or am I wrong. I felt like I needed a description to go along with it. Only critique is that when you look at all your products, nothing really says “This is very Lola”. Citrus said... Quote Faye Shull – Your makeup line was presented well, but the idea and the execution of it was pretty basic. You just put the word Faye over a bunch of makeup photos, the Tippi level thievery. Of course, it was necessary for a fayeshull cream, so that’s fine. Your apparel is kind of a mess, there’s no consistency in style or humor. The organic pu$$y joke is good but doesn’t fit with the cutesy/risqué stuff of the rest of it. I don’t see Faye Shull in any of the apparel, especially the socks, which don’t come off as funny as you’d like. Your MTG cards were the highlight, and I’d bargain they were what you spent the most time on, as well. THESE are Faye Shull – this portion is so good it makes it feel separate from the rest of your entry. Your look is Disney villain rather than executive, but I guess I can see the crossover. Colleen Girl did you come up with any original songs? I know we can’t actually read them but like, most of those sound like covers of famous songs already? Anyways, stan for Blondie and Eurythmics. As Aciid said, I appreciate that there is such continuity between all of your items and they very much fit the brand and aesthetic that you’ve established. Your voiceover was funny because you kinda repeated this storm motif like 4 times, but it still worked. It’s also cute you made a wine. I would’ve liked some more descriptions, reviews, whatever, just something a little more, ya know? Look is good, no complaints. Noah Fence Oh, honey. The origami is SO creative and unique to you, and the fact that it actually sorta WORKS, whew. Toot. The pads are slightly more of a miss because the moment they’re referencing wasn’t as impactful as your other sources of inspiration. Like, a Noah Fence easy listening audio book would’ve been cute, though we woulda dragged you for doing two voice related things. Lose lose, I guess. But yeah, I’m more okay with the pads the more I think about them. I wish there was a joke in there about how they were light blue. The EP and the song previews are good, though you missed an opportunity to feed Moonchild’s ego by making Rosebud about her hole. Slay at you being the fashion queen this week, werk bitch. The metal face paint is a tad too much but hey, it’s drag. Good job. Stone I did scream at your fans being pebbles. The floral headband is cute but so underwhelming next to everything else girls brought this week. Like, a headband from Walmart? Girl. The calendar is a good idea for a fashion girl, and the looks are all mostly toots. The issue there is in the presentation. I think you may have bit off more than you could chew, because it looks sloppy and kinda rushed (@Chanel’s lipstick). The bong is neat and I like that it’s floral, the pics of you aren’t really necessary tho and don’t add much. Overall, going with a floral theme probably didn’t work out for you because it just created three unrelated items with lowers on them. You should’ve embraced the fashion all the way or the silliness with the bong (a stone-d buttplug?). I love your runway, very what Sasha Velour thinks she is. Gladys Lady Meat Okay, I wouldn’t buy any of these items because I’m not a freak, but whew did you LOCK on to your brand and really sell that ****. Your write ups were cute and informative, and I was stanning at how good you are to your fans. The body pillows must be STEEP for them to be that posable, and gag @ you provided full makeup and wig but boy body pillows for the kinky str8s who ain’t ready to admit they like mens. You’ve really created a full drag character, and this episode you delivered in a way I haven’t seen you do yet in the competition, and I’m so proud to see it.gif Lola Cabezas You doing sweet coffee sex stuff is a perfect move for you, and it fits especially well given your lip sync last week. I can’t wait to try the vanilla bean, maybe the caramel latte if he’s Latin. I like the idea of your book more than the excerpt – it isn’t badly written and it’s definitely engaging, it just wasn’t quite as fun as the title suggested. There’s a gray area where negative experiences and comedy overlap, and it’s hard to get the funny when you talk about that overlap. Minor thing though. The dolls are gorgeous, even if she only has one pink wig (you styled it well). Not all the outfits are cute, but the idea is fun and you did it well. Did you use your hair as the background for some of them? No shade. I’m not a fan of your outfit, the colors aren’t quite as fun as the lil pic you provided and the fur collar makes it look a little too old to pair with all the younger stuff imo. But it’s not bad, at least. Spoiler @Buddy! @DripDrip @Serendipity @True Skarlet @Lémur @Rhisiart @Kylie Jenner
