As long as it's more similar to "A Touch of the Beat" I'll be a happy camper.

Their last album is great but it lacked the same magic that ATotB had

They made a big statement with the whole "We Don't Stop" thing :clap3:hardworking queens that haven't stop a single bit since 2017.

Slaying left and right, leaving no crumbs.

yeah if they're abandoning pop productionat least give us ATOTB type stuff....i'm nervous

as someone who has loved every project from them, with love from was disappointing and the tour was even worse. they say they're gonna keep playing the old hits but no one wants to hear those boring acoustic mixes of them

We will be streaming.

Doesn't have to be pop, just A Touch Of The Beat quality would suffice cause With Love From was a bore.

Happy everyone's saying the same thing. ATOTB was amazing but With Love From was a SLOG to get through. I just want them to go back to their perfect synthpop

Love the new song. I also didnt enjoy their last album that much. The first one was epic. Go back to that queens :gaycat4:

Their Sanctuary EP remains top tier from their catalogue for me.

HOWEVER, I enjoy when artists experiment & try new things. I enjoy their folkie-pop sound.

I love them so much and although I love their poppier stuff, their most recent material has been their strongest for me. Sunchoke is one of the best songs released this year.

With Duds From brought all of their acceleration since 2017 to a complete stop and threads like this exemplify that jfc lmao.

thought i was the only one who didn't get into their last album but it's interesting to read that most of you didn't as well

ATOTB was a masterpiece and i'm so glad they seem to be back at making great music again

With Love From was underwhelming as a whole, but at the same time Sunchoke is one of their all time best songs, so I still have faith in them.

Last Town sounds immaculate but I cannot with WLF hate. I understand some of the criticism but it still sounds great and gave us BLYHD, Talking in My Sleep, Sunchoke, Blue Dress, Open to Something and the title track :wanda:

Also, and I know I’m in the minority with this, but I don’t consider their pop efforts all of the same caliber. For me, Sanctuary remains their weakest effort to date, an EP of faceless mainstream fodder without any identity. It’s cute, they sound great, and I love it for what it is but it’s not in the same league as ATOTB, WLF, Ten Years or even HH and Insomniatic.

Ten Years / We Don't Stop was their peak I fear.

they keep mentioning that they're trying to get further into the indie/alt sound but they have to know the reception to WLF was lukewarm at best and they're really polarizing a big chunk of their longtime fanbase by doing this - I know several friends who i attended A&A's post-2017 tours with who didn't even bother listening to WLF, it's just not a sound that resonates with a lot of people who are familiar with them :rip: I just worry that continuing this direction is gonna make them lose the fanbase they worked so hard to gain back and they're just going to get frustrated again like in Hothouse era. Ten Years/Sanctuary/ATOTB was where they found their sweet spot so it doesn't make sense for them to turn their backs on that sound so quickly.

I don't mean to soapbox but as a longtime fan of theirs it's so frustrating to see them completely ignore what fans enjoy from them :skull: I don't have super high hopes for whatever's coming next but I hope they realize that they need to keep that common ground between genres (which was executed so well on ATOTB) instead of this lame americana thing

and yes Sunchoke is an excellent song so we know they still got it!
