Lowkey, this is a Latto & Ice Spice snub cause they actually been the most visible non-Nicki/Cardi female rapper for the last year straight. Sexyy Red and Glorilla definitely were more towards the end of that cycle. Doja just came back with a rap project.

latto and Megan has 3, glorilla and coi leray 5, ice spice 2, sexyy red 1 and Nicki 1. prolly due to eligible period doja's PTTR, ice spice's deli and sexyy red's new project will make it in the 2024 awards.

 

latto had a good run, sadly I think she's the one that would deserve more noms, though if we think in her hip hop lane she basically released PIODF/PIODFA and her featuring on jay rock/Anderson paak collab which deserved better. her other songs are pop so it wouldn't be counted here.

Whoever has been writing Cardi's bars this year definitely earned their paycheck.  She has put out really strong, quotable lines this year. Nicki also deserved a nom, imo. Let’s be real, (some) Black people still feel a way about the chatroom scandal.  She doesn’t overly cater to Black culture to “win them over” so therefore she rarely get BET noms, even on the main show.  im on the fence about if she should do more Black press this era.  It could help, I guess.  But the elephant in the room would need to be talked about.
