I just discovered the Katy Perry/Gwen Stefani of the early 1980s

Bloodflowers.

I have actually heard this song as a child when playing GTA Vice City but forgot about it until now when I was watching some compilation videos and this bop popped out.

I am unsure how ATRL would feel about this song. Is it problematic? Is it a banger? Did she have Madonna and Cyndi Lauper shooken a bit? It sounds like a song that could go viral on TikTok despite being 40 years old.

Discuss and keep it cute :sistrens:

Speaking of 80's songs discovered in 2023.

Fun fact: Fergie sang background vocals on this, so if we're being really broad about it, she has #1s in the 80s, 00s, 2010s and 2020s.

OP: Song is lowkey a bop but is a bit problematic or so I've heard.

The song was written about her friend who was battling a cocaine addiction.

The song went on to become a hit all over Europe and beyond, although according to Sandeman, it failed to chart in Japan because, according to the Japanese office of Hansa, the song "sounded too Chinese."

Cuban-American excellence Martika did THAT :WAP:

One of the best and most powerful songs that came out of the 80s. She walked so Shakira and J.Lo could run a decade later

Could this be considered problematic by the way?

Well those lyrics are certainly... something :toofunny2:
