And as much as I love Phoebe, her tour with boygenius was like 15 dates spread across four months, or something like that. There’s no way to misconstrue this - it’s about the Eras Tour, whether things are perfectly comfortable between her and Taylor or not.

BRIDGERS: It was so fun, but I went directly from the Taylor Swift tour to the boygenius tour, so I was like a shell of myself. But they’re the best people to be my shell self around. They’re my best friends.

Agreed! Like if I say this is THE Film of the year I can’t just be talking about some random indie streaming release. I have to be talking about the definitive -experience- in the category of which I’m referring to. In which case, Eras fits the bill over boygenius’s tour with odds of a trillion to 1.

Who is creating anything false here? The words are right there for us to read? The only alternative is that Olivia is referring to boygenius’s tour as “THE tour of all tours” but there’s not very much empirical evidence to back that up now is there!

There's no false narrative. Just go read the quote. Just because some users are claiming it's fake, it's not. Phoebe was literally talking about being at the eras tour just a few paragraphs above.

she's referring to the eras tour. Phoebe started the interview talking about how tired she was from the eras tour.

I don’t know why some of you guys don’t think about the fact she’s just intentionally trying to separate her brand from Taylor’s. She has to undo those first six months where Taylor was clearly her biggest inspiration and it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re feuding, it just means she’s keeping her thoughts and feelings private. Going to the Eras Tour would just solidify Olivia Rodrigo = Swiftie in most people’s minds which isn’t good for her long term career if she wants to carve her own path

Yeah, I’m in agreement with this. There’s no rationality behind calling boygenius’s tour — a 15 date tour from April to August — the tour of all tours

Exactly. I don’t even think this has anything to do with the whole royalties thing, I think what happend was that her manager, publicist or whoever adviced her to not mention Taylor as much anymore because her whole image and brand was becoming immersed with her being a Swiftie and not much else. She had to break free from that and create her own image. But we all love a good feud and dramatics which is why we’d rather believe there’s BadBlood.MP3 between them rather than a publicist doing it’s job

I’ve always thought the same but people never agree  I feel validated now.

 

In fact I even think Taylor’s letter to Olivia included career advice along those same lines, basically making sure she played her cards carefully and didn’t give the media or the public any ammo to tear her down with. It’s just a theory but I still believe in it tbh

And being real here about my fave, knowing Taylor, I wouldn’t be surprised if she agreed to keep it quiet between them publicly in part because the speculation generates buzz and publicity that benefits both of them, on top of allowing Olivia to define and establish herself more outside the context of being a Swiftie. “All publicity is good publicity,” as they say!
