Speaking as ATRL’s resident lawyer, if she didn’t know about the camera, it is indeed ilegal :rip: even more so if the footage becomes public.

Ring cameras aren't tiny, they're pretty noticeable and if it's outside there is no expectation to privacy.

--

However, all of these stories just make their breakup seem more fishy, it definitely seems like Joe is hiding something. They don't need to be pushing it that hard.

Yeah I just went with complete lack of knowledge about there being a camera, since they live in a mansion it can be harder to spot.

The story keeps changing every day as a different attack on her.

His team is trying too hard. Either get to the point or shut it

The Jonas brothers have a history of throwing women under the bus to maintain the perfectly calculated “good guys” persona that’s been crafted for them since they were on Disney.

Why is everyone always in such a rush to take a side at all? We don't know either of these people. It's entirely possible she did grow fed up with him / his constant touring and decided to have a little fun herself. It doesn't make her evil and it doesn't make him entirely wrong either. But really we have no way of knowing yet.

There's something very sus to me about this pattern being both present in Joe/Sophie and Sam/Britney's cases:

1. News about divorce breaks

2. TMZ releases statement faulting the women

3. Both parties release a statement and the men claim amicability

4. TMZ releases more info doubling down on prior claims

TMZ clearly hates women and wants them to suffer so it doesn't surprise me this is happening but this is also common in the male divorcee playbook.

It's a ring camera outside the house, why wouldn't she know about it :rip:

why is everyone automatically siding with Sophie? did i miss somthing?

This. There's no reason to believe Joe is the bad guy. Not with his good looks and muscular body :mmm:

There are no “sides” to be taken other than the children’s. Anybody doing otherwise needs to look at themselves in the mirror

That doesn’t make sense tho. They shared a home. How wouldn’t she know about a security system in her own home?

May I ask a question: say a spouse installs a camera without the other knowing. Information obtained from the camera results in divorce proceedings. You are saying that’s illegal? Is there any recourse available to the spouse who was filmed?

is it illegal to film anybody without them knowing? What about filming a neighbour in their own yard and making it public?

I know a little about expectation of privacy and all that, but what’s the difference between being unknowingly filmed by your spouse’s ring camera and being filmed by your neighbour? On your own property for both examples

The way you've been patrolling this thread, downvoting every comment that supports her and calls out his blatant smear campaign. :rip: ATRL's rampant misogyny once again rearing its head.

Isn't illegal to record your wife, even in your home, if she doesn't know it?. (i suppose she doesn't know it ?)

California is a 1 party state. Only one of the 2 people has to consent.

Sis, why do you hate every woman who publicly enters into a legal scenario with a man? :deadbanana4:

If that were true I wouldn't have sided with Amber Heard when the whole Depp v. Heard trial took place.

I make a judgement based on the facts. I don't care about gender, etc. Everything that has come out so far has painted a very clear picture of who was in the wrong in this relationship. Of course, it's just rumors for now. But they can't all be fabrications. I bet there's some truth behind each one of them.

Oh, we can tell you’re a Depp supporter… you’re the target audience for the playbook :coffee2:
