Hayley Williams is innocent! Josh Farro sued for g4u credits

After the new Olivia interview my legendary fave Hayley Williams is catching some lashings. Misery Business has 2 writers; Hayley Williams and Josh Farro. Josh left the band in 2010 and is not on speaking terms with any of the members except his brother Zac Farro (and their relationship is not great either iirc). Here's a clip of him saying he started the lawsuit. BTW y'all kept acting like Olivia just gave out credits but he says there was a lawsuit :skull:

Hayley wants NOTHING to do with that man

What? He doesn’t admit to anything. He says they got to reap the benefit without any labor, sleazy yes but guilty no :rip: His exact words are “there was a lawsuit” and that’s it. He’s scum but this isn’t that accurate

I don’t think Hayley, Josh, Taylor, Jack, or Annie “sued” or even threatened to sue Olivia. I think Olivia’s team offered the 50% share simultaneously to both parties, separately, for each of the two songs.

It wouldn’t make sense for both the Paramore team and the Taylor team to end up getting the EXACT same share of two separate songs. They’re two different artists with different labels, lawyers, and publishers. Those odds are nearly impossible.

There was a lawsuit means someone sued or threatened to sue. The lawsuit(s) obviously didn't go through or we'd know. Olivia's team decided to settle bts and gave them both the same shares. Doesn't mean they didn't threaten to sue

Josh was shady toward Olivia regarding G4U before that. His "our publisher is going wild" comment later was such a fake response. Like, we all know it's you Josh since Hayley didn't even want to claim or perform that same song that year. Or even wants to talk to him ever again considering how homophobic he is even to his own family.

Edit: also, he's a broke ass flop in a Christian rock band rn so clearly he's the one who needs those 25% credits.

I think we'd know if there was an actual lawsuit but of course it's Josh Farro...

The way stans have no idea how the legal system works continues to send me.

If there was ever a lawsuit filed in any jurisdiction about Olivia Rodrigo songwriting credits, we would have access to the proceedings through an outlet like PACER. No such suit exists.

OK then he threatened to sure and they settled. Same thing :rip: I'm just quoting his words.

Actually it was Hayley who said that :skull:

That's exactly right. Without their threat to sue, this wouldn't have ever happened. If fans believe Olivia would just give over millions of dollars in royalties and publishing out of the goodness of her heart, they are truly insane. She was backed into a corner and had no choice but to settle behind the scenes.

She should’ve given credit to begin with to both paramore and Taylor. She used their art to make hers and now she has to pay. She learned a valuable lesson it could’ve been worse for her tbh🤷🏾‍♂️

Hayley was kii'ing on instagram stories the day she was added in the g4u credits

and right after that she started performing misery business everywhere despite retiring it a few years earlier because it was anti-feminist

Not 'Olivia ripped that song off'. It's just a pop-rock song with similar chord sequence, Paramore didn't invent pop-rock and of course they didn't invent chords, it's insane how far the music industry has gone in becoming an awful place

She didn’t make either song close enough to have to pay out 💀 many artists do worse and never have to add song writers to credits. also she said she was inspired by Taylor’s “yelling” vocals.. she didn’t say she was including a cover of them in her songs bridge like ariana did with “break up with your girlfriend”

I don't think Olivia would've lost the cases, especially not for Deja Vu. I can see why she just gave up to avoid conflict and bad press at the start of her career. 50% is an insane amount tho...

What I don't understand tho is Taylor (I think) mocking her by pretending to be the Sabrina Carpenter's biggest fan and friend.

Like, Olivia loved her, she got the credits and the money, and now she's rubbing salt in the wound...

Maybe there's a lot more to the story missing but right now, based on these facts, Taylor is looking quite awful in my eyes.

Sabrina was openly a Swiftie since before Olivia debuted, Taylor sent her a cardigan. Y’all are creating stories over nothing :rip:

wasn't Hayley bragging about G4U going #1 or something?

Am I the only one who doesn’t really hear a similarity between these two songs? Especially not to the point Olivia had to give them writing credits. This is also coming from somebody who’s been a Paramore fan since 2005.

You spilled. They can't admit this though because of the implications it has about another pop girl and what they did to Olivia.

There's no similarity. Both share kinda the same chord sequence but that's the same for every pop song this century. Also, if Lana's lawsuit with Radiohead was settled down, even when that song actually had basically the same vocal melody, there was no reason for Olivia to lose this case, but it just seems everyone took advantage from her being a new artist who tried to avoid bad press and having bad blood with her 'idols'
