Actually less than a month I think - this was filmed the first three shows in Los Angeles (which was August 3rd, 4th & 5th) - though I'm sure they will be putting final touches on it through September, but still haha.

Gaga has a multi-faceted career that spans multiple industries so she had other things to focus on. Taylor, despite her attempts to break into Hollywood, only has music to rely on and therefore has more time. Taylor also wants to continue milking her fans for every penny because the hundreds of millions she currently has are not enough for her. She wants more. She needs more. She wanted to strike while the tour is hot so she is putting it in theaters. 
 

There is also the fact that Gaga for whatever reason does not employ teams of people to help her put stuff together. Instead she is seemingly editing the damn thing herself

I’m gonna be honest… I don’t understand the drag that pop girls branching out into multiple industries to extend their brand is a bad thing. 

 

Does it really matter if some of them do makeup or movies? Just because not all of them put out albums every year doesn’t mean they’re not passionate about what they do.

this is completely 100% related to them. It's about their vision. It's about their focus on their music career. It's about the team they chose to work with. There's a reason why Taylor's movie was recorded 26 days ago and is already ready and Gaga's was recorded a year ago and is still being edited. Vision.

I think this just comes down to different approaches for different artists.

 

If I recall, Gaga posted an instagram shot where she talked about editing the footage - and I feel like that implies she’s hands-on and actually doing it and participating in the editing herself, which I find admirable. She’s also been prepping and filming for a pretty major movie role, too, which is hard work already. You probably can't do both full time at once.

 

Taylor, on the other hand, probably retained final approval power over the Eras Tour film, but almost certainly hired a team of people to edit it. She’s a workaholic, but even she has her limits. With a full professional team dedicated to just that project, turnaround time would be much faster, and they were likely contracted for editing before the first date even kicked off. That’s part of the Taylor Swift business machine - meticulous preparation and quick execution.

 

Ultimately, both will be products of their artists’ approach and fans will love both.

Taylor's footage was filmed not even a month ago, and she already has the teaser and the release date. Gaga 'recorded' her show more than a year ago, posted about editing it two months ago right after the Big Pharma controversy and then totally forgot about it. She doesn't care... and to think Taylor had her major debut two years before than her
