What type of album roll-out do you prefer the most?

the way Midnights roll-out would literally only work with Taylor. Even Kendrick was barely able to pull it off as the album was considered an underperformance compared to DAMN.

Love #3. Like another user said it’s the tried and tested method. It builds up just enough hype and gives fans a taster of what’s to come without revealing too much. I guess this method better for more established acts though.

#4 only really works if there is an album date announced. Then I’ll happily wait and sit through 2/3 singles

#3 is my personal favorite and if an album has a bunch of singles before an album, I'll only listen to one (MAYBE two) of the singles before the album comes out. Unless it's someone I REALLY REALLY like and I have no patience.

I'd take #2 as well. I like the surprise drop a lot, but I wouldn't want every artist to release that way. I hate #1, but I understand why it's done that way in the current landscape of the music industry.

It depends on the artist, for someone like Taylor, midnights roll-out worked (even tho Bejeweled didn't get its chance to shine properly) but I can't see another artist aside from her, Beyoncé or Kendrick being able to make that type of roll-out work, I like two singles before the album and the third one with the album with 2 post-album singles.

i hate year-long roll-outs, it's one of the worst new trends
