Even Manos hitting #2 there and The Spirit Indestructible going top 3 there with 2 top 30 hits It's crazy how they loved her more than Canada It's not crazy... we have chosen to make her our musical president. Before her, it was Anastacia who dominated... Nelly just took her rightful place. After Nelly, Adele took over, but I am sure Nelly can reclaim her Germanic throne.

Not you trying to switch it to albums since your claim was easily disproven with facts. But I know you find every excuse to discredit Shakira. The mental gymnastics to make Shakira seem unsuccessful in a country where she has some of the highest certifications and multiple #1 hits. Shakira Albums: Laundry Service: #2 peak in Germany and #2 on the 2002 Year End Chart in Germany Fijacion Oral Vol. 1: #1 peak in Germany and #13 on the 2005 Year End Chart in Germany (and it's a completely Spanish album) Oral Fixation Vol. 2: #3 peak in Germany and #12 on the 2006 Year End Chart in Germany She Wolf: #3 peak in Germany Sale El Sol: #6 peak in Germany (Spanish album) Shakira.: #5 peak in Germany El Dorado: #19 peak in Germany (Spanish album) That was fun. ILAB is a bit trendy hoppy (still a great song!) imo while SIR has a timeless appeal to it. That song takes me places I feel the opposite -I'm Like a Bird sounds unique to me - hip hop elements mixed with folk-ish guitar & genuine lyrics that weren't afraid to be cheesy, whereas Say it Right is very late aughts/Gossip Girl vibe with the trendy late 00s Timbaland production.

I respect that. Maybe trend hop wasn’t the right phrase, but ILAB just reminds me of the singer/songwriter material that was being released heavily around that time (Vanessa Williams, Natalie, etc.). Meanwhile I find SIR to be ethereal. Nelly and Timbaland really tapped into a mysticism that very few artists have been able to recreate since then with that song.

I never said Shaky wa sunsuccessful. It's all in your head babe. I said that she never dominated an era like Nelly did with Loose or Anastacia with her first 2 albums. Shaky was always there after Laundry Service... but The Germanics didn't crown her empress of the nation. That title only belong to a few acts such as Nelly, Anastacia, Madonna, Adele and more recently Helene Fischer - High Empress of them all. P!nk btw has sold over 4 million albums in Germany (certified). I looked at that post which you seem to like so much and was shocked to see someone link Christina or J.LO with the big acts in Germany.
ChooseyLover Posted July 15 Posted July 15 (edited) Bumping an old thread because it's lovely to see proof that Nelly Furtado is more talented than the Someone Should Put a Muzzle on That Woman producer and she does NOT need to work with him again (and she didn't) Edited July 15 by ChooseyLover 1
