Cleary she doesn't have a publicist, because that "apology" made absolutely no sense.

the fact that she replaced her fanbase of queer folks who actually support her with people who just discovered who she is because of this scenario and won't stream a single song :ahh:

and these people are anything if not persistent, so despite her “not wanting to turn into anything into a campaign” her comments will FOREVER be flooded by terfs and will follow her forever like an unwashable stain

Trash. She won’t be missed.

this feels like a total punch to the face, but it should serve as a daily reminder that transphobia is still rampant and can come from the most unexpected places, even from “allies” who have been profiting off of your community for two decades

She really had an opportunity to keep up with the times in regards with how to be an LBGT ally and yet she still talks about "fixed views" and how apparently her music wasn't catering to any demographic all along?? When she was reposting the memes about gays stabbing her all the time?? This feels particularly weird

the way she typed all that and just said absolutely nothing. girl just get to the point:

”I said what I said, it is what it is and that’s that on that. Y’all can stay pressed, I guess!!! I never cared about you f words anyways! a check is a check!”

currently deleting freak me allah remix from my library

Also she interacts with her fans a lot and it's a given that she saw many comments from her fans expressing their disappointment and urging her to at least educate herself. She has her own discord ffs

also, fixed views my ass. you have the opportunity to educate yourself especially over something that’s so vile. something told me not to introduce myself to her music with that freak me now remix.

It's truly INSANE to me that she said her music isn't aim to specific demographic when she has a song dedicated to one of most iconic documentary about ballroom scene that predominantly queer black trans people in it. This is truly f*cked up honestly :skull:

Her solo music and Moloko are truly one of the biggest thing that has been part of my life. So now i'm done with her and her bullsh*t. F*ck her!

It's OK to raise questions about these topics, not sure why the gang hate on her. I support her 100%.

Ironic sidebar to this: I only see The Guardian, NME, and the major U.S. music outlets covering this right now.

If the rest of the UK tabloids weren't onboard with her ignorance, they would be covering this too, or at least it'd be getting more traffic from those outlets to show up in general news feeds like Google News. The fact this it hasn't says it all. They're part of the problem.

I also just don't think she is tabloid fodder, tbh. nobody knows who she is.

I mean, fair, but it depends on what metrics we're using. There's UK artists with less traction with Gen X with whom she was at her peak both solo and in Moloko that get more coverage, so that's debatable.

Rooting for a popstar you don't like to get "cancelled" is why things like transphobia get dismissed as a trivial concern :skull:

You know you're allowed to just not like Jessie Ware for any reason, be it her songs or whatever. You don't have to wait for her to give you a morally justified reason to act holier than thou about it.
