Planet Mars
50 years ago, in August of 1973, former Supreme, Diana Ross scored her second solo #1 song with the Michael Masser Ballad "Touch Me In The Morning". The parent album was a return to form for her after kick starting her movie career the year earlier. Lady Sings The Blues was a critical and commercial success that won her a Golden Globe and garnered her an Oscar nomination. The song was a million selling single in the US, becoming the #10 best performing single of 1973 according to Billboard, and went top 10 in the UK, Australia and Canada.
