what fall out ? spill

OT : i’ve been saying i feel a slight caroline / uk garage vibe coming :jonnycat: jack can rot

Spoiler

ALLEGEDLY, Jack and Lorde fell out post the plagiarism accusations of Stoned at the Nail Salon & Wild at Heart. Because Jack produced both songs and Lana's team apparently wanted an admission Stoned at the Nail Salon was inspired by Wild at Heart or they'd sue, Jack pretty much left Lorde out to dry and didn't help her when he's the main cause of the issue. :skull: We'll see if the falling out is true if he's on her album or not.

This doesn’t mean no Jack nnn. The meltdowns when the track list drops (someday… in two years) and he worked on half the album.

it's probably true, because Jack always posts on album anniversaries/anniversaries in general, but he NEVER posted about Solar Power since release. :fan:

Lorde also did a big anniversary Instagram stories for the 6th year of Melodrama revealing many unknown things and she mentioned Jack zero times. :fan:

so many people think they're on bad terms though

I mean, they used to be very close friends as well as collaborators, but I feel like their friendship never survived the infamous affair rumors of 2017-2018 — she also was not in attendance at his wedding this weekend

If she wasn’t at his wedding yesterday I 100% believe they fell out

I can't imagine that's why, sounds very much like fanfiction please. I do think something went down between them though considered Lorde wasn't at his wedding

I mean, up until this point everything was normal between them. Lorde would mention him every chance that she could and then… stopped.

Also, there had to be some drama. Lana and Lorde were allegedly beefing over a song that he clearly had a lot of input in and it’s clear that he and Lana have remained friends.

Lorde stated in a newsletter from 2021 that she first wrote 'Stoned at the Nail Salon' over two years ago. This makes it quite possible that she wrote it long before Lana and Jack ever got together for 'Wild at Heart' -- makes it all even more intriguing tbh.

It was Lana who attended Jacks wedding this weekend, Lorde did not.

It's not just Wild At Heart. It's also Hope Is A Dangerous Thing.

@NOW used to have the tea and posted it long time ago. Hope was written before and Lorde claimed that she makes all the decisions in terms of production when ppl started dragging Jack for the production.

I'm too lazy to dig up those receipts but Hope was created when Lana and Jack first met in February 2018 and it became the foundation for all of these folky piano ballads Jack started to help churn out. That's probably why he stuck with Lana and had a falling out with Lorde.

Pitchfork was directing a hit piece on Jack in 2021 and unfortunately Lorde got most of the strays since Lana, St. Vincent, Clairo, and Bleachers' albums had already come out: https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/jack-antonoff-polarizing-nice-guy/

OT: This is going to be a major album. Jim-E-Stack will probably be getting calls from more mainstream artists just like it happened with Joel Little and Jack in previous albums.

Yeah, but Lorde started working on Stoned — according to her email — around 2018, which was when the Melo Tour ended. I have a hard time believing that Lorde would plagiarize any artist in general, but I think it’s funny that people really think she has superpowers or something to plagiarize a song that was not even released when she began writing Stoned at the Nail Salon.

And yes, although Lorde has stated that she’s in charge of decisions, she also talked about Jack being great and writing melodies and it’s clear that he used to have a lot of input sometimes, especially since Lorde doesn’t play any instruments and Solar Power is very guitar-based — if I’m not wrong, he wrote the entire hook of “Dominoes” as well, just for some reference. So yeah… It’s very clear (to me at least) that working on 1000 albums at the same time was not a great idea.

You want another example? Solar Power and St. Vincent’s At the Holiday Party. Both have similar melodies. Both written in the same year. Both produced by Jack. I mean, if it happened twice…

We also love a good Jack drag, he gives me horrible vibes since that blind item about Twigs and his wife
