Taylor has 4 nominees with one win and Midnights is arguably the most successful pop album of the year but did the era tour and re-releases overshadow it?

Kelly has 5 nominations with two wins and shares the record with Adele for most nominations and wins.

If Olivia’s sophomore is a success she has a good chance of winning back to back.

Olivia is snagging that with ease. Pop voters are ageist

Kelly will probably be nominated but won’t win. I do think her nom is also a stretch due to competition.

I’m giving this one to Taylor.

Kelly isn't going to win unfortunately, probably Taylor

I mean bonnia rait won song of the year last year…. The voters are obviously having a different view and who knows that the voters might be KCshow watchers and favor her.

its hard to predict really.

Taylor has reached a new career peak and hasn’t won BPVA since 2016, so she’s the front runner even though Midnights is her worst pop album.

the only way Olivia can win is if Guts is a critically acclaimed album, ranks high in the year end lists, and has a smash single.

Out of those options, Taylor. There isn't much buzz around Olivia, at least yet. Taylor on the other hand has been everywhere. You can't escape her. Plus, they probably won't give her AOTY for a fourth time so soon, which would increase the chances in this category.

The Grammys aren’t exclusively a popularity contest. Taylor would sweep regardless of quality of work if that were the case. She shouldn’t automatically win because she’s having a big year.

plus there’s absolutely NOTHING special about her vocals on midnights :rip:

Well, they are not supposed to be a popularity contest but it's obvious that success plays a crucial part in nominations and wins. It's also Taylor we're talking about and she's got both massive success and acclaim.

Also Pop Vocal album is not about vocals

you know that best pop vocal album has nothing to do with vocal delivery, right???

I think Taylor has the highest chance to take that award home with herself.

It's always kind of obvious what albums are going to win this specific category. and yes, this category relies on commercial success and global impact more than any other category.

Pop vocals unlike SOTY is primarily voted for by people working in pop music . Everyone votes in the GF so they usually  favor more traditional music  (eg not many producers and writers, the musician can play an instrument, etc) while the pop voters care more smash pop eras.  This is a big reason why Lana hasn't won a Grammy since pop voters care  a lot more about having multiple singles smash from an album than other genres.

The latest winners are Harry's House, Sour, Future Nostalgia,  When We all, Sweetner and divide. Pop vocal is much easier to predict than the GF.

You do know that the vocal part is just there to separate it from non-vocal albums right? :deadbanana:

It's not actually about the artist's vocals

Taylor deserves a nomination for lavender haze (best pop vocal performance) maybe a win... not the whole album. A short form MV nomination. And a best pop vocal album nomination. That's it.

I think, Taylor will get it. The album didn't do that bad with critics and she's had an amazing year with it.
