They're very literal with them. If they want to represent laughing, they will use a gif of someone laughing, etc. Their gifs also tend to be really "extra" (like that Jonah Hill you posted).

 

ATRL and stan Twitter's gifs usually represent how you say it or just the general vibe of the conversation, not what you're saying.

theyre used to living in the status quo so their standards for everything are low af. they just want to quickly communicate using a gif and whatever comes up first is enough for them

Edit: Uncultured probably isn't the right word. It's just a different culture.

Straight humor is so basic, not even a drag, just something that I noticed a few years ago.

Like I have to fake laugh at what they say to me whenever I hang out with straight relatives or co-workers because I don't want to be rude.
