Olivia shows character and Taylor is still bland. Why?

Taylor is not exactly a “singer” so Olivia can succeed regardless of Taylor being around.

Olivia is honestly riskin it all with her new music and visuals instead of serving generic pop rock singer.
An impressive act. A grunge star from the past with a modern twist :gaycat3:
We downplayed her so much and she will end up winning and acclaimed.:jonny5:

If i were Taylor i would be shakin on my boots and lookin for ways in this moment to destroy her and blacklist her in the music industry and spread rumours about her. :gayorkcat2:
She's a threath. She's a threath like Katy Perry was one day to Taylor Domination but then Bad Blood was born :gaycat4: :fan:

What the hell is threath? :rip:

With her newest single, Gen Z phenomenal Olivia Rodrigo impressed all of us. Not only it’s catchy, with a lot of repeat value, but also It’s acclaimed left & right. It clearly shows that Miss Rodrigo has character. On the other hand, Taylor Swift is still bland, releasing shopping-mall songs like „Anti-Hero”, a song that could be sung by literally anyone. Why?

Girl please delete this before you get banned or something and won’t be able to join me in the elimination round :mazen:

OT: I love both these women but it's really going to be a while before Olivia can do something like say All Too Well (10 min version)

OT pt 2:

On the other hand, Olivia is an incredibly beautiful MPG, has amazing vocals, serves visuals, writes/produces all her songs, and has three #1 hits before her 2nd album is even out.
she's kind of something else.

Why the difference? It could be that Rodrigo's willingness to embrace her authentic self and craft resonant, memorable tunes sets her apart. In contrast, Swift's recent release appears to have missed that mark, resulting in a track that lacks the uniqueness and depth we usually associate with her music. While Taylor has certainly carved her place in music history with her earlier works, the comparison with the fresh energy of Olivia's style might lead to these differing perceptions. To sum up, in a world where musical authenticity reigns supreme, Olivia Rodrigo's hit single stands as a testament to her individuality, leaving Taylor Swift's latest offering feeling somewhat uninspired.

However, it's essential to note that musical preferences vary widely and both artists have their unique strengths and dedicated fan bases. Ultimately, music is subjective, and what resonates with one person might not resonate with another. Both artists contributed greatly to the music industry, and it's exciting to see how their careers continue to unfold.

Cause blandness/easy-to-consume is Taylor's brand :coffee2:

Is this the new “Taylor has no cultural impact”? Taylor and Olivia are both sitting pretty in the Top 10 simultaneously. What an unnecessary attempt

Taylor is forced to keep the cringy woman-child persona to be relatable to her fans

Unfortunately America loves bland, blonde, bobble heads so Olivia lost this one. :sorry:

Better Than Revenge showed a lot of "character" and was re-released like a month ago. I suggest you go try that one first
