AvadaKedavra
Billie Eilish has emerged as the most prominent white artist in recent years. She was the center of attention in the music industry during 2019 and early 2020, especially as Taylor Swift's presence waned following the release of "Lover." with some panned songs like ME! and u Need to Calm Down However, Taylor Swift has experienced a renaissance with Folklore-Evermore-Re-Recordings-Midnights and now has the spotlight within the industry. She gets all the attention, acclaim, awards, impressive tour records, and multiple number-one hits. She has the White Teengirls fanbase in the States on lock. With her next re-recordings and the possibility of a new album soon???, it seems that she stands unparalleled. Outer Space is the limit for her Sometimes I feel that if Taylor weren't consistently achieving success after success, all the attention from the industry, media, and white teenagers would shift to Billie Eilish or Olivia Rodrigo. Agree or not? Same Happened with LADY GAGA stealing some attention-spotlight from Katy,Kesha and Rihanna back in 2009-2010??? Cesar
not really, billie and taylor have two completely different audiences. olivia and taylor do have the same audience though
superben
They're so different wdym. She probably steals some attention away from Olivia, though. I feel that their core fan bases are virtually the same demographic.
bad guy
According to Spotify and Billboard Global 200 she has the biggest female song in the world so the spotlight is very much shared
loveisdead9582
…? No? Billie really hasn’t put out much recently and Taylor is touring and releasing nonstop. Their audiences may overlap a bit but Billie does have a somewhat younger audience.

Gorjesspazze9
Taylor has literally been one of the biggest pop stars since 2008. idk why all these people act like she wasn’t always massive. 1 1

sweetblindness
This thread is bizarre. Like others have said, they have two totally different audiences, and Billie hasn't even released anything lately that Taylor could steal the spotlight from (aside from maybe the Barbie song, which has been performing fine). 1 hour ago, AvadaKedavra said: Sometimes I feel that if Taylor weren't consistently achieving success after success, all the attention from the industry, media, and white teenagers would shift to Billie Eilish or Olivia Rodrigo. Agree or not? I don't agree. While Billie is undeniably successful, I think her music is a bit more niche. I don't think she'd ever reach Taylor's level because her music just doesn't suit it as much imo. I guess I agree more with the Olivia take, but even then, Olivia is smashing right now, even with Taylor's ubiquity.

Asscatchem
they both target Gen Z, and gen z is still claiming taylor as their queen rather than one of their own 1

So scary. She changed her destiny like Kaiba did in duel monsters Taylor won the duel. Edited August 12, 2023 by AvadaKedavra

Gorjesspazze9
Y’all can dislike all you want but Taylor has been selling millions since Olivia and Billie were in middle school. taylors audience haven’t even been the “White crowd” in like half a decade. And stop trying to make her a Gen Z exclusive artist. She is a millennial Popstar that just so happens to have longevity. I know some of y’all young fans are ignorant. But Taylor was as big as Olivia and Billie during fearless. Like she literally was. Y’all just lack actual pop culture and Megastars🤷♀️ Edited August 12, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9 4
The Music Industry
"Stealing" as if Taylor hasn't been in the spotlight since Billie was like 6 years old I'm not sure I understand the thread. She not only has the white people now. She has everyone. A Godzilla. A Magnet But im watching some tiktoks of her tours and theres so so many GEN Z there Is insane how someone from the 2000s is still "so cool" with the kids of today. My daughter of my cousin is 12. I asked her recently about some singers of today and Billie Eilish : She doesnt like her that much Olivia : She likes her and that conan gray guy Taylor : She's totally obssesed with Taylor. Doja Cat : She thinks she's funny Edited August 12, 2023 by AvadaKedavra
ugo
I feel like Billie's music was a phase when I look back at WWFAWDWG some of it is really cringeworthy. I actually liked it when it came out but now I can't really revisit her music and I just can't stand her persona. She also came in as a more socially conscious and anti popstar but in the end her image changed a lot and I don't think she stayed true to herself. Also her second era was so messy with all the droplets before and no defined aesthetic. I don't think Taylor stole anything, most of her core fanbase has always been with her. Billie's moment just faded and many fans don't relate to her anymore. Edited August 12, 2023 by ugo

She has her books and pictures of all the concepts of the WWFAWFWG ERA She's a Highly creative imaginative person. She wanted the Second one to be more stripped, vulnerable and her. Thats Billie Eilish to the core. The human. I Watched her documentary. I wonder if she will go back to a "Character" for her third era. Hope she does. With Pop Rock Bangerz. I really want her to be the HUGE for years in the Mainstream and not another Lana Del Rey-Lorde-Fiona Apple type of artist lol Billie we want more of that WWFAWFWG creativeness Edited August 12, 2023 by AvadaKedavra

I feel like unless she uses shock value like her first era she won't pull huge numbers. But it would be hard for her to shock the public (kind of like Gaga that tried too hard with Artpop to capture attention)
