It’s getting challenged by Jungkook’s release just by 25k copies. So far the predictions are putting it at #1

I say three prayers before bed now 🙏🏼

1. That Scott Borchetta is having a terrible day

2. That Scooter Braun has a shitty life

and now a new one

3. That the deranged OTH find reality and SOON

I’m just going to be brave enough to say it: 1989 will eventually surpass 21 and The Bodyguard :giraffe: even if it takes 10 years I fully believe it’s happening. This album will never die, and the 1.6M debut week after 9 years is the perfect proof of that. It’ll become one of the biggest albums of all time and biggest female album. The two versions combined will end up stabilizing over 15M on Spotify. Based on Chartmasters’ methodology it’ll continue moving at a bare minimum 5M streaming units per year for the foreseeable future (again, this album isn’t going anywhere in terms of streams for a long time). I’m not afraid to say it!

It's gonna pass "The Bodyguard" in few years for sure, but "21" is slowly growing in streams too. It did 6,3k EAS yesterday, possibly 7k daily soon. That would mean 2.5M yearly EAS. And since 21 is older than 1989, I don't see its streams going anywhere either. Either way, 1989 combined stabilizing at 15M daily streams would be massive. It remains to be seen what happens once Taylor is done with all the re-recordings and no longer touring, though. Still high streams most likely, but maybe a little bit of cooling down. And will she need to take a break at some point, and how will the fans react/adjust to that.

This only proves that it has always sounded good and they’re now trying to find an excuse to say they like it

I think my only issue with NR is the AH ah Aha ah part. I’m listening to the OG and it’s immaculate. Especially before the last chorus. But oh well. Even the fixed one didn’t fix that. Style got much better though.

The chorus of Style is still too robotic and loud, if these “fixed” are true.

Am I the only one who really thinks that Style TV is better? :gaycat7:

were the glitches a streaming thing, or do you hear it on the vinyls too?

I've gotten over the guitar intro, it sounds normal to me now, however the chorus just sounds off. It's not as bad as ppl are saying tho!

I actually love the new style too, but I didn't like 1989 too much until the re recording. idk why but the TV made me really appreciate the album.

There's some songs I hadn't even heard on 1989 since I thought it was just candy pop (I dont really like a lot of artists that atrl stans like katy ava Zara etc for being too candy pop and I mistakenly thought this was like that for years) but I should've known better since i loved BS and OOTW back then so I wasn't really biased about the originals, they all sounded amazing to me, it was like listening to a new album. The production was clearer and so was her voice. Alot of midnights/folkmore fans barely discovered it too and they loved it

you're right about the Ahs, the friend who sang it came back tho right? it was just less loud I think? like less layered maybe
