At least Taylor now knows that a small minority of terminally online swifties are slowly getting tired of his production, while the silent majority streams and bops to their global hits Anti Hero, Cruel Summer and IION

Fixed that for you :ryan3:

Timeless

Yeah he is obviously very talented and all  but she won’t get rid of him not for this reason, but because he is her friend and most importantly he is a YES man and too comfortable for her:coffee:

The way the 1989 vault is the biggest scam of all time and her first misstep in years (sans the Karma remix)... she really thought anyone was gonna let stuff like Suburban Legends and Now That We Don't Talk pass as 2013 tracks when everything from the synthy production to the way they build up Archer/Midnightsly towards a fancy outro when everything she's done with Jack up to that point has been face slapping instrumentals she wrote exaggerated shouty hooks over. She totally took the poppiest songs from the Midnights sessions and put them aside to be attached to this cash grab. Say Don't Go is the only one I believe is old and even then the production was Midnightstised and diluted grossly, sucking any excitement out of me. I can totally hear it having had originally a dramatic Ryan Tedder'd production. I'm like Midnights' biggest stan but like ENOUGH, everything about this release has been ass and I'm disappointed beyond words

how many times are you going to spread BS.mp3  when yall have been told even by insiders that these were written during the 1989 sessions? They have the same producer and both albums have 80s influences, how shocking they have the "same" feel. These vaults actually seemed to resonate with people like the red ones so I'm glad y'all are in a small minority acting like theyre some trash songs

You said it best :clap3:

Don't let swifties silence you, speak your truth! The 1989 vaults do not sound like 1989 songs and it is not hateful to admit that.

It’s not a bad at all. It’s just feels like she gets too safe with him:gaycat5: she needs to experiment more. She has everything it takes to create more interesting sound.

Why are you agreeing with someone who's clearly saying that those vault tracks are from Midnights, though? That user is saying no truth at all. They do SOUND like Midnights rejects, because of Jack, but they are Not Midnights rejects.

Vaults sound like Midnights cause they are produced by Jack. The problem that some parts sound too much alike Mid.

That's what I'm saying. They sound like Midnights because that's the only pop sound Jack is capable of producing. But they are not Midnights rejects

I bolded the parts that I agreed with. No one was doing minimalistic build-up type synthy production in 2013/2014. The pop music from that time, especially 1989, had piercing synths that were celebatory and fun with shouty hooks. It wasn't until Melodrama where those types of productions were popularised.

Imagine being a 1989 fan since 2014 and been dreaming to hear the songs that didn't make the cut for almost 10 YEARS and then hearing the vaults and it all just sounds like Midnights 6am Edition. :deadbanana4:

Speak Now and Red vaults were more faithful to the original sounds, meanwhile Fearless vault sounds like folklore/evermore and the 1989 vault sounds like Midnights. It's sad really but oh well.

We have to talk about how Wonderland has always been the best song on 1989 but y'all slept on it.

Yes please, let's have that conversation :khalyan2:

Hmmm I think 1989 vault tracks sound like Midnights because, while they all both synth tracks, they are more muted which would fit more in Midnights.

Midnights is a chill synth pop record while 1989 is more bright and shiny synth pop. :giraffe:

Then have the nerve to say Chats & Reacts are overreacting when they've been doing this since even before Midnights came out

So when Midnights came out y'all said it sounded like her previous albums, but now the 1989 vault is suddenly sounding like Midnights :toofunny3:

Ummmmm

The vault tracks do not fit the OG because Taylor removed these songs because they didn’t fit the vibe.

She released these tracks to show you what direction 1989 could have been….but wasn’t

I get what you're saying but I think that's somehow the case only for Puta! and Suburban Leghands, meanwhile the other songs have the explosive choruses that 1989 is known for

And we thank god for that because imagine a world without Blank Space, Shake It Off, Bad Blood, Style, Wildest Dreams wow she would've flopped
