NOT almost HALF of the entire top 100 on iTunes being her, also 21 out of the top 30 on Apple Music, 1989 TV being #1 and #2 on iTunes, dominating on Amazon...

The Spotify debut and first HDD prediction are going to be monstrous :rip:

I can’t get over how good Clean TV is. Her vocal tone is just so much clearer and smoother, and Imogen sounds as amazing as ever. And the production, especially in the second verse, sounds even more ethereal. It’s really one of her best songs. Just soooo good and the original was already pretty much perfect.

I am once again asking Imogen to come back for another Tay album :chick3:

Say Don't Go chorus is the most 1989 moment from the Vault. Such a single material:jonny5:

I went to buy the vinyl today from JBHIFI and they were BLASTING it, and everyone was lined up buying the CD. Some mother was even filming her child with the reputation CD (?) :rip: Swiftmania is REAL, y'all.

Ok the TV songs have finally grown on me after one day of listening (even Style to some extent) but there are still some things that slightly bother me e.g. Bad Blood’s prechorus and also, is it just me or is there a random ticking sound in the second verse of SIO?

This is the first vault where all of the songs actually contribute meaningfully to the storytelling of the album (maybe with the exception of Suburban Legends) and aren't just throwaways - I appreciate how cohesive and curated they feel. No skips. Is It Over Now? is probably one of my fav Taylor songs now. I know repetitive meltdowns about "botchings" are a more amusing activity for some, but I'm more interested in actually digging into what these songs reveal about where Taylor was artistically and in her personal life when they were written - there's a lot here if you bother to invest energy beyond screaming "b-bUt JAcK anToNOff!!!!"

On that point, that "the vault sounds like Midnights outtakes" narrative is so lazy tbh. They all sound very much in line with Jack's work on the original album - you're hearing Midnights in them because Jack's midtempo work on 1989 already did it first :dies:

It feels like what people are really saying is "I wish the vault was just gigantic banger after gigantic banger," which is an entirely different argument. It's just amusing how songs suddenly "sound like Midnights" when the whole argument against Midnights when it first came out was... that it sounded like a reductive retread of everything her and Jack had already done together. Which is it? :deadbanana2:

Smashnights is different from anything they have made before together so yeah i'm Happy they finally understood Midnights it's a "genre".

Just because everything Is like synt pop doesn't mean It's all the same or basically all prince album are the same since is always synth and rock- funk? Lol.

Also after the vault my Spotify played cruel Summer. Of course cruel Summer has a more infectious Melody but the production is so cheap comparing to these vault (and most of Midnights). They really raised up the level

Now That We Don’t Talk is the best vault song btw

Y'all ever think about how lucky we are to get to experience releases like this? :jonny: Truly unprecedented. Even getting unreleased tracks released like this usually only happens for the 25th, 30th, 40th, etc. anniversaries of albums and we're getting to experience it at the peak of her powers WHEW :jonny:

Oh this is evil.

Spoiler

You've put this into the universe, so now I'm going to wake up at 4:30 am in a panic to find my phone blowing up because she debuted with like 30 million across the first 24 hours and somehow the recording academy has decided to strip her of all her awards because obviously she's a flop now and flops don't get to keep Grammys :ryan3:

I don't like this part, her vocals just sounds weird

the line YOU GOT :khalyan2: I get used to Style TV guitar riff but I need more time with the last chorus

the volume of doubled vocals, the vocal layering, she could've done it better

I love how Taylor always gives her fans only a few seconds to breathe and then she drops something big to have them on a chokehold again :rip:

I'm come to the conclusion that 1989 (TV) has the best vault songs, banger after banger after banger. Yes, "****!" is a banger.

  • Thanks 1
