The Vault tracks were never finished products in their era. She has rewritten them. Even for the features. How would she make Nothing New fit Phoebe Bridgers’ voice when Phoebe wasn’t even a thing back then. I don’t think Taylor would waste Max Martin’s hours with half baked demos. They had leftovers that became the original deluxe tracks. Maybe **** and others were just Taylor and her guitar or lyrics written down from around that time and she reworked them with the Midnights sonic headspace

That's the obvious answer to those stupid claims that the vault tracks are recent. Yeah bi*ch, their production is new. Their lyrics are not.

People blaming Jack for almost everything but at the same time stan hard on songs that are actually produced by him. Makes it makes sense, worms for the brain

The amount of “Jack better not touch reputation TV” tweets I’ve seen

she won't promote the album huh? :khalyan2:

no music video, no concert, no talkshow, no performance :rogue:

I mean, there are no obvious hits in the vault. What is she going to promote? :deadbanana2:

Album falls a bit flat in some places but surprisingly after all the posts here, NR sounds fine to me.

What i don’t get is why Shellback only produced Wildest Dreams TV when it’s clearly there were a lot harder songs to produce on the album (Style, New Romantics) which she botched with Chris Rowe. I think she firstly recorded WDTV back when she did Red TV and then when she did the rest of the 1989TV (most likely in 2022) he wasn’t available anymore, and neither was Elvira (her absence was also felt because she did quite a nice job on RED TV on the Max/Shellback songs)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (and inform me on the matter:coffee:), but doesn't Scott already know about the existence of these demos? As the label was paying for studio time with producers, and Taylor couldn't legally hide anything from them, regardless of what was shelved or not? Or could Taylor just not submit to the label what she didn't deem as worth it? Cuz if it's the first option then he wouldve already run to the media and burn her at the stake trying to ruin her-owning my old work purpose.

They only own the recordings from those sessions. As a credited songwriter and performer Taylor can rework them as she wants with whatever producer she feels like it, since nothing is coming from those sessions

I Can See You is more of a hit than any of the 1989 vaults actually :swan:

Wildest Dreams TV was recorded in 2021 so I assume most of the album was also recorded then as well.

I can see you deserved better, but I still catch it on radio sometimes. It’s her Arctic Monkeys serve. It would’ve been a collapse in the OG Speak Now era

Shellback ONLY being on Wildest Dreams (TV) .. Its really not surprising that Wildest Dreams is the best rerecorded Max song
Surprisingly Rowe did a great job on All You Had To Do Was Stay (TV) tho :clack:

I can't believe nobody here is dragging ChrisXtina Row or whatever his name is :rip:

He is totally trash, almost everything he touched since Red TV are TRASH :rip:

Jack is godlike compared to him

He need to go, but in reality he will completely ruin IDSB (imagine that latatata part) and DBM

What a shame, literally :rip:

The Max Martin songs are all kinda ruined, why would she replace a pop mastermind on her biggest pop record? Make it make sense... :bibliahh:

I'm sure - and like I said, I'm not denying or doubting these existed back then; in fact I know they did Lol I'm just saying it's interesting watching how her writing - specifically for her voice - changed over time. Melodically and register-wise, the first four albums were richer in melody and higher in pitch; then the poop albums started having much more monotonous melodies and she started going lower in her register, specifically with rep.

From what I can remember anyway; I'd have to think on it more - and more deeply, too.

The album artwork being shot in February doesn't mean the album was finished in February. If that was the case, we would've gotten Midnights much earlier in the year.

I think it’s no far off February, because it takes time to produce vinyls and Midnights had that ready to go. Usually a 6 months window for production

It was finished in April or May 2022, one of the insiders confirmed this.
