So I waited for the actual audio to come out and not the leak, because it’s unfair to judge based of a leak.

It sounded worse in high quality…let’s not kid ourselves girlies..:michael:It sounds like 1989 (Karaoke version)

Which honesty only speaks as a testament to how the OG is a pop Bible and how Max Martin is THEE producer.

This is easily the worst re-recording with rePUTAion coming hot on its heels.

But also we’ll be fine y’all, she reached billionaire status just the other day, so stream either version it doesn’t make that big of a difference.

This 1000000%.

she can’t reproduce the same emotion on the new recordings. Sounds like she’s sexyfying instead of being angsty.

Cruel Summer #1 on TTH :ryan3:

She saw SLVT! going to the church and had to improvise quickly

And don't get me wrong, she is cute, but next to CS she's just that, cute.

I really hope she drops Jack for her next album, I can't take the kidz bops anymore. Everything is sounding the same. I get a big chunk of her audience are kids but why does everything sound like it should be played in a coming of age movie.

All the vault songs sound like this

These kinds of songs are cute for like a day and then you get over them enough already

It's you're feelings which changed, not hers. I mean, it's been a decade, no one is the same for a decade, so...

I'm 36 and you're lying. Sorry. I'm sure folkmore is very childish. Sure.

Her refusal to work with Max nowadays for these re-recordings is so weird and suspicious to me, I feel like something had to have gone down or the relationship disintegrated.

That being said none of the TVs have bothered me - I got used to all of the other ones just fine and it will be the same with this one.

The Vault tracks are all boring imo - I am so sick of her working with Jack at this point it's not even funny. His productions are so dull.

not really, I’m not even comparing her vocal pitch/range is just she had more angst in the way she sung some words in the original, you could feel the emotion, now it’s just soft without emphasis. Blank space, OOTW etc.
I think I know places is the best re-recording from 1989 in that sense.

Now That We Don’t Talk obviously the best vault track so far :WAP:

Wonderland and You Are In Lena sound the same. The first NR chorus was a bit jarring but I got used to it by the end of the song. Those “aah”s before the chorus were serving WANEGBT TV though

Can people just dislike something without automatically being labelled as a "hate on anything" type of person?

Sometimes people just don't like x, y or z and that's perfectly fine, jeez.

I think we all can agree that Clean is way better than OG, a spiritual journey :WAP:

The Jack hate here just doesn't make sense like OOTW always been Taylor's favorite from 1989 and Jack produced vault songs to sound like they belong to 1989 like he did for his songs from 1989 OG....do you guys want them to sound like Dr. Luke songs or something..? I mean if he brings the same trick for TS11 then I would get the hate but :skull: you guys are simply asking too much.

I totally forgot this was coming out today…

first song I heard was of course I Know Places and I can’t believe what she did with those “ayy” :rip:

at least the rest of the song sounds good with her mature voice

This thread is full of people crying and hating on it, as expected before the release and it's tiring/annoying to see. Maybe some of you should just focus on your faves' music, it might help.

Was it over when she laid down on your couch?

Was it over when he unbuttoned my blouse?

Come here I whispered in your ear

In your dream as you passed out

Baby was it over then?

And is it over now?

It’s factual.
Compare the following vocal emphasis ond

AYHYDWS: let me remind you this is what you wanted at 1.47.
OOTW: oh I remember at 3.06

Blank Space: the whole 2nd verse starting at screaming crying at 1.51

Etc etc etc. super smooth blasé emphasis on the words
