I'm so glad she found out she could use her lower register more. She EXCELLS at using it. Such a sexy sultry voice. Now That We Don't Talk's verses are prefect because of it.

This is probably my least favorite re-recording so far, but not because of the petty reasons a lot of you are complaining for — purely because 1989 is her weakest album besides Lover and Debut for me, and the vault doesn’t have anything strong enough to elevate my opinion of it. :gaycat3:

The first verse of Shake it Off sounds a little too layered in vocals but the rest of it sounds good

These 1989 vaults didn't elevate the album for me like Red or Speak Now did.

Style is the only really botched track from all the re-recordings so far, which is sad because it was my fav from the record T_T but I will listen some more and see if something changes

Is It Over Now? is amazing!!!! My fav vault track, I love it so much

This is so offensive. If thats the case then go stan Max Martin.

You can complain about the production is not as good as you expect, but to say 1989 sounds good only because of Max and not the girl who write the lyrics and melody is insane.

Leave.

this is a very very valid criticism, though. people just don't give production and what goes on at the hands other others making the music besides the one singing/writing it, the credit it deserves. Max Martin creates magic and emotion and feeling with the little nuances of his production and with these TV pop songs (and even the red ones), it just falls flat. Youtube Karaoke is very much what it's giving to some people and that's valid. That can change the whole feeling of a song, not to mention the way it's mixed and vocals are layered and processed which is a completely different art of it's own. I guess it really takes a trained ear to notice and appreciate these things...

Now That We Don’t Talk is going to be so underrated simply because of its length :biblionny:

She should've put that extra layering into unstyled :rip: almost every song was elevated but the thing with style is there's no backing layered vocals at all

I just think it’s so cool to get to experience this album the first time again as an adult and I’m around the same age that Taylor was when she was writing and recording the original iteration. I can relate so hard to these tracks now vs back when I was barely a teenager. She’s just so incredible:weeps:
