Dear Reader Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I'm so glad she found out she could use her lower register more. She EXCELLS at using it. Such a sexy sultry voice. Now That We Don't Talk's verses are prefect because of it. 2
PoisonedIvy Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 This is probably my least favorite re-recording so far, but not because of the petty reasons a lot of you are complaining for — purely because 1989 is her weakest album besides Lover and Debut for me, and the vault doesn’t have anything strong enough to elevate my opinion of it.
SpeakNowTv Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 well imma sleep, wake me up if there is a surprise
JoeAg Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 (edited) mkay can’t listen tonight (or maybe after the cute homeless guy who i’m friends with falls asleep…) but anyway! can’t wait, I hear Sl*t is really good from my friend Eliana so we shall see Edited October 27, 2023 by JoeAg 1
ALA Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 The first verse of Shake it Off sounds a little too layered in vocals but the rest of it sounds good
Finkypop Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 All You Had To Do Was Slay’s vocals are so good

Timeless Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 These 1989 vaults didn't elevate the album for me like Red or Speak Now did.

itsjem Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Style is the only really botched track from all the re-recordings so far, which is sad because it was my fav from the record T_T but I will listen some more and see if something changes Is It Over Now? is amazing!!!! My fav vault track, I love it so much

You can complain about the production is not as good as you expect, but to say 1989 sounds good only because of Max and not the girl who write the lyrics and melody is insane. Leave. this is a very very valid criticism, though. people just don't give production and what goes on at the hands other others making the music besides the one singing/writing it, the credit it deserves. Max Martin creates magic and emotion and feeling with the little nuances of his production and with these TV pop songs (and even the red ones), it just falls flat. Youtube Karaoke is very much what it's giving to some people and that's valid. That can change the whole feeling of a song, not to mention the way it's mixed and vocals are layered and processed which is a completely different art of it's own. I guess it really takes a trained ear to notice and appreciate these things... Edited October 27, 2023 by messybottom 2 2
1989 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Now That We Don’t Talk is going to be so underrated simply because of its length 1

Uncatena Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 stop riding Max's dick when he is the one who declined doing the TV's lmao
SimpleKindofLife Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I just think it’s so cool to get to experience this album the first time again as an adult and I’m around the same age that Taylor was when she was writing and recording the original iteration. I can relate so hard to these tracks now vs back when I was barely a teenager. She’s just so incredible 3
