Taylor Swift - '1989 (Taylor's Version)'

i still have faith, she hardly ever hyped her own music like this, she is pretty confident to spell "insane"

To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long! Pre order 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on my site 😎

:eli: Let me have some hope

There is no hope. :eli: This is her Artpop, an absolute bomb. Her slvtpop could mean anything!

According to someone who allegedly heard 1989 TV already, "Sl ut!" has a similar tempo to The Man  :deadbanana4: we lost

I'm just glad some of these vault tracks seem to be sadder/slower. One of the gripes I had with 1989 OG was that it was too saccharine and could've needed more "Clean" like moments!

Completely agreed, the bop to ballad ratio on the OG version is 12:4. Adding five more mellow tracks, of which at least one is definitely still slightly upbeat, won’t hurt the pacing especially as they’re at the end.

If anything, this completes the newly revisited beach visuals — you “get away to the Hamptons” with IKP to spend time at the seaside starting with Clean, after “partying in NYC” for most of the album. The vault is going to be an excellent add-on / epilogue, I get Taylord’s vision already. :gaycatx:

The Man is 110bpm which is mid tempo, so we have literally known this for days. It also happens to be faster than Blank Space and Style :deadbanana: if she had just said “**** is faster than Style” y’all would be hyping yourselves up already.

Okay the vault tracks might be flops but what have ppl been saying about Style etc? Is it botched?

The Red vault has the best imo. Electric Touch and Emma are the worst vault tracks we've gotten.

THUMBS DOWN ALL YOU WANT IM BRAVE FOR (SPEAK)ING (NOW). I would love to hear what you think the worst vault tracks are!

I don’t know why people are saying there’s no video because there’s no tea… we also didn’t have any willow tea and that had extras too :deadbanana4:

Obviously the Red vault is the best, let’s be real ATW 10M alone mostly washes the other ones :dies: Between that, Nothing New, Forever Winter, Better Man and IBYTAM there’s no competition. She was truly in her bag that era.

Some of the other vault tracks are among my faves too but it’s not even close overall

SacRED does indeed have the best vault tracks, only "Run" and "TVFN" are meh. IBYTM, NN and FW are in the top 5/6 of SacRED.

MPF is the ONLY song that is a masterpiece from all of those songs, and by a mile.

Does anyone ever lament MPF not getting the full single treatment? The success of Red TV did spoil us a lot, but if the re-records had similar popularity during Fearless TV, MPF would have been huge.

Yeah, Mr Perfectly Fine is the only useable one from Fearless and would have smashed like Love Story and YBWM. HOWEVER, I am glad that we got it when we did because Her 16 old year vocals would have destroyed the song.

cause for the album she worked with a vast numbers of collaborators and co writers and she wanted it to sound very different with a lot of genres in it, so if the OG album has like 2 great slow country ballads you can expect another great country ballad (like better man for example) to be cut out cause she had to put a 2-3 songs of every genre or with every co writer- producer she worked with.

Speak now has already 17 songs, it's all self written and it's an all country album with the same producers so why in the past she should have cut off a very very very great song. Same for fearless, we already had a deluxe edition back in 2009 so what you can expect?. 1989 has 16 tracks, it's an all pop album made with max martin, if a song is really really great and at blank space- style level it's already on the album.

For rep i feel she cut out songs that can be better than stuff like so it goes, king of my heart, gorgeous cause she decided for this "love saved me" narrative and less on the "reputation let's talk about the drama" narrative. I think some strong song about this second narrative could be on the vault right now.

i think she was just genuinely super uncertain and apprehensive of how the re-records could/should go, which is why she went with fearless (beloved enough to be successful, but not one of the big guns like red or 1989), why it had a p low budget shoot, and probs why she did the conventional route of releasing promo singles.
